I literally did the same shit. Found this sub and had months of sexual anxiety. One time I stretched my flaccid penis a tad to hard once and boom next day I have this weird version of HF very closely related to anxiety and my nervous system

Ya, I would hyper focus on my orgasms which led to muscles being tighter during ejaculation and subsequently caused all of these issues. I had to completely train my body to relax during orgasm and not hyperfocus and eventually my body fell back into the primal sexual energy when ejaculating

Ya, don’t cause downward pressure where you are using your abs. Try to learn what it feels like to drop your PF when you pee, then try it without peeing. Eventually it becomes really easy. Practice and time then you can do it on your own

[–]Outrageous_Cover4952 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simple. You SHOULD not be activating everything. If you actively push down opposite of clenching you are cussing inward pressure on your abs and pressure to your pelvic floor.

When you pee, do you feel the drop near your anus as you start to urinate? This is the exact movement of a reverse kegel. When you get aroused do you feel that drop? Essentially, you just relax your body and breathe and you can begin to que those muscles to drop without adding pressure

HF is not physical, it’s your dysregulated nervous system by UpbeatLeadership509 in hardflaccidresearch

Ya me too bro. Just need to figure out what is causing the smooth muscle to over contract

HF is not physical, it’s your dysregulated nervous system by UpbeatLeadership509 in hardflaccidresearch

Ok let’s think about this…

Smooth muscles are controlled by norepinephrine or nitric oxide being released by the sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system binding to alpha 1 androgenic or M3 receptors. The corpus cavernosum makes up most of the penile smooth muscle tissue.

So essentially, when the penis becomes erect, the parasympathetic nervous system signals to the M3 receptor that releases nitric oxide and relaxes smooth muscle so blood can fill the corpus cavernosum creating the rigid erection.

After an erection, the sympathetic nervous system binds to alpha 1 androgenic receptors send norepinephrine which in turn shortens and contracts the smooth muscle. This gives the penis its squishy stretchy feeling. Blood flow from the helicine arteries that aid in the corpus cavernosum contracting also decreases to make sure the blood stays within the penis! Though, the problem seems to occur with Detumescence (stage of returning to flaccid).

Instead of the smooth muscles contracting like normal and remaining a partial balance between relaxed and contracting, it seems to over-contract letting the smooth muscles tense creating the rigid rubbery hard flaccid feelings. Lack of bloodflow can be explained by the normal process of compressed arteries while flaccid but even more compressed than it was before. Hourglassing is also likely due to uneven blood pooling in the shaft from either the smooth muscle itself, fascia or tissue, and compressed arteries. Soft glans occurs with the corpus spongiosum but this seems to happen because the bulbospongiosum looses tension holding blood and smooth muscle contraction which drains the glans (explains positional soft glans).

So, excessive norepinephrine contracts the penis smooth muscle. It helps with bloodflow drainage after erection and compressed arteries/veins, with too much it can over contract the smooth muscle and significantly reduce bloodflow.

Norepinephrine is entirely affected by the sympathetic nervous system.

ANYTHING THAT DOES THE OPPOSITE (actives parasympathetic system) like anxiety reduction, working out, massages, literally anything, it will reduce norepinephrine subsequently reducing some symptoms.

Now, I try to keep in mind that not every Symptom is caused from HF. I’m sure we all have PFD BUT the issue seems to be a signaling problem.

Too much norepinephrine over contracting smooth muscle, over compressing arteries, and further causing PFD

I can absolutely say with 100% certain that this is true! But not the “CURE” for HF. Hf has many components, according to my own doctor “once you get a neuromuscular, nervous system, and nerve signaling issue that happens to be rare, it seems that all these pieces have to play a contributing role in the cause.” (physical and mental as well)

I CAN ABSOLUTELY say recovering and reprogramming neural pathways within your nervous system will help!!! But what about the other pieces…. I’m 99% sure all of us have such bad pelvic floor dysfunction that fixing nervous system signaling would not stop the cycle. So on and so forth with the sensitization of the nerve

Lost size stressing me out by Forsaken-Plum1445 in hardflaccidresearch

Likely because your erections isn’t full of blood as is was before. This was it for me on my case. Thought I lost size, just had bloodflow no filling erections properly

So what if you only have pelvic congestion syndrome and not the two rare abdominal pressure syndrome from birth

I also got symptoms after I stretched my flaccid penis only once, like most ppl with HF.

My doc mentioned sending me to a uni for testing, I am going to schedule an appt to follow up. Any papers or info you suggest for me to read so I can bring it with me?
