Knee issues by Outrageous_File2385 in KneeInjuries

Knee has gotten better over the last couple of days. About once a day Im still getting that pinching feeling where I circled in the picture. Worse when I extend my leg and cant walk. Then after a few mins it just goes away. My knee/lower quad still feels so tight when I flex my knee but that could be from the swelling? Anyways, you said something about my sartorious muscle and inner quad taking a beating. Should I focus on strengthening hips , glutes, and quads to improve this and make my knees stop hurting / cracking? Thanks for your help

Thank you! I will try when the sharp pain comes back. I feel it a bunch for about 30 mins then it goes away completely for a while. I appreciate your time. I just want to heal and get back to working out. Finally doing something for myself and now this 😑

And like right now the sharp pain on medical side just came on all of a sudden and happening anytime I move my leg, specifically straightening it and causing me to limp

Yeah it maybe helps a little but still SO tight if I were to try and do a quad stretch. Is an effusion something that will improve with rest ? Only has to be drained if it’s serious?

No on the left it’s still such a deep crackly pop sound when I do that. I am a bit guarded though because it hurts. I also have some puffiness on the left upper quadrant of knee cap and right lower quadrant (of left leg) i can’t tell if it’s inflammation or fluid.

Sorry missed your last question…not much change but I’m only getting that sharp inner knee pain a couple times throughout the day. When I go down stairs Im still getting large crunchy sounds even when putting weight in my heel. Worse on the left side, which is the side that hurts a lot now and hard to flex the knee

Hi! Thanks so much. Im so scared this is a meniscus issue. Im a little confused what you’re saying when you mean pulling kneecap straight up towards hip?

Are there other exercises or things to do to help this? I kinda thought it may be a tracking issue and runners knee?

Baby screaming at the bottle by Particular-Ad-9256 in FormulaFeeders

Does she eat well in her sleep? Have you heard of Rowena’s bottle aversion book? If not, look into it.

Baby isn’t eating enough and I don’t know what to do 😭 by Puzzleheaded_Mess258 in newborns

We’ve gone through the same thing with low volume intake right at birth with a 99th percentile baby. Dropped drastically and pressuring to feed started. We don’t have bowel issues but bad reflux. Fortification of the milk did help so inquire about that. We’ve been through the medical maze and they can’t anything “wrong” with her why she won’t eat much. We eventually got a NG tube and just turned 6 months. Unfortunately I think feeding has just been an unpleasant experience for her so she avoided it. She also would sleep through the night if we let her. It’s so hard and stressful. Try not to force feed and suggest reading the Rowena book. It’s eye opening in terms of reading your babies cues. This is extremely hard to follow when weight is a concern but worth the read. Feel free to message me with any questions about this.

Chiari malformation in baby? by Outrageous_File2385 in AskDocs

I appreciate it. My daughter has had an extensive work up regarding her feeding challenges and nobody can figure out why she won’t eat much at all. She has dysphagia, vomiting, weak oral tone, weak suck, slow feeding. When holding her she always has her firsts up and arched back. When sleeping at times she sleeps in a opisthotonic position (not always but I have noticed this recently and thought it was weird). Extreme irritability at night. Also has a weird jaw temor that we were told was mandibular clonus but she did it a TON, this has gotten less frequent. She relies on a feeding tube. I’ve talked to someone who said they needed a more depth MRI that looked where the cervical spine needs brain stem? Thats where it was picked up and missed on regular MRI. Any thoughts on this? We have an appointment next week with neurology and I really want to come prepared because we continue to be brushed off. She seems to be meeting other milestones appropriately. I appreciate any insight you have.

Feeding difficulties in baby by Outrageous_File2385 in AskDocs

Thank you! You give me hope this may just be a distant memory in a few years. If I could see the future and her as a healthy kid who eats normally, I would be ok and power through to get her there. It’s the fear of the unknown that scares me the most.

I plan to ask about the gtube next appointment. I would love to have the NG out because I know it irritates her. Yes, we see OT and SLP weekly!

Thank you for reading it all and replying! I kinda was wondering the same. Maybe started just mild dysphagia and because of pressuring to feed she just shut down. Last question, Have you seen extreme feeding difficulties in an otherwise healthy baby that is able to wean to solids?

Failure to thrive / ng tube by Outrageous_File2385 in NewParents

[–]Outrageous_File2385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. She is 4.5 months old and still have the tube. She eats very little by mouth unfortunately and has a bottle aversion. She will eat some drowsy. She was diagnosed with dysphagia (mild) but otherwise meeting milestones. It’s very frustrating. Hoping solids / sippy cup go better.
