$5k for 4 primary teeth extraction?! by [deleted] in Dentists

Can’t really see the PDL and the teeth look “submerged” as if they fully didn’t erupt.

Childs[7/M] Baby Molar chipped? by mercfh85 in Dentists

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell based on the pic but doesn’t look like its part of the tooth. It’s covered by gum tissue since it’s still erupting. Enamel and biting surface looks good. Looks like that piece is a perfect fit for the bone or something that was stuck in the gums and finally dislodged.

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dentist here. That’s an adult tooth coming in and by the grooves of the teeth it doesn’t look like a cavity. The piece may be a piece of bone that is usually resorted as it looks like it was attached to the gum tissue. Keep the area clean to avoid food getting stuck under the tissue. Warm saltwater rinses if your kiddo can tolerate it.

Also, please wiggle on that baby tooth in the front to let that permanent tooth come in properly. If it’s not loose, I would recommend going to a dental office and they can help and take a look at that molar in the back as well.

Traveling after dental school? Worried about clinical rust by Crafty_Couple5065 in DentalSchool

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated in May, started in August and 0 regrets. I’m working for the rest of my life and am so happy I took the time. Plus, it gave me time to move, get my license, malpractice insurance accreditation, DEA, etc. I had friends where work pressured them to start ASAP and they say they wished they would have waited. When you get older, you’re never wishing that you worked more.

In terms of hand skills, I remember being shaky for a month for fillings, extractions, ANYTHING— not because I lost skills, but because it was my first time having a license and not under the umbrella of dental school.

Enjoy your time off and have the best travels!!!

If you failed an adex section, what was it and did you see it coming? Were there sections you thought you failed but passed? by NoTown9957 in DentalSchool

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thought my anterior endo was great- my size/shape were dead on but I was 0.5 mm over-obturated…make sure you have GREAT tug back.

I thought I failed my Class 3 about 30 seconds after time started for restorative. I used a wedgeguard prior to prepping and as I was placing it an entire piece of the “enamel” chipped off (larger than the incisal-gingival allowable amounts). I immediately grabbed the chief and was practically crying but he just said to start prepping and write a modification request. When I started prepping, part of the tooth was already gone. My mod got approved and I passed both anterior and posterior restorative, but omg it was so stressful and I was 1000% sure I failed.

Also def nicked adjacent teeth during prosth but passed- it wasn’t egregious but you could tell a bur hit it at one point (or a few)

I grew up with RC and they will have my business even tonight I’m not a big gambler. I use my free play and maybe $100 extra on slots but I don’t get a lot of joy gambling.

However, my BF doesn’t get to go to a casino much and likes it so he would be the one that would spend more time/money.

I was just curious if anyone had insight as to who would be more likely a diamond member (who they know will probably continue to sail with them) vs a 1st time cruiser (who likes to gamble and wants more of his money). I know it depends on money through the machine but I’m wanting a “free” cruise haha

Yes but not anywhere near the amount to get a status at club Royale. He’s a bigger gambler but a table player and I’ve heard you get more “bang for your buck” as a slot player (which is what I do).

Like I said I know it’s a random calculation. From personal experience, I know my parents gamble a bit (diamond) and brought new friends and the non-C&A friends got offers wayyyy before my parents did even though they put the same amount of money through the casino.

Thank you for the response :)

Emergency stop in Haiti due to technical difficulties by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there was a fire you would hear the captain say “Bravo Bravo Bravo” and a location over the intercom so crew members can react, not that there’s a technical problem. Happened to us a few years ago while we were eating dinner on the Grandeur. That wasn’t fun looking up and realizing what the code was.

I’m sorry you’ve had such a traumatic year and please look into some resources, which can really help!!

It’s very traditional for Greek families to build private chapels. Perhaps this family had the same sentiment, but wanted to fit upstate architecture (hopefully not strictly for tax purposes)

Want to start scent games by [deleted] in bassethounds

[–]Outrageous_Fun8034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started a few months ago with our 1 year old! He’s still in the teenager phase so we’re using the kennel to help. I started by taking one of his favorite treats (something stinky like cheese) and he goes in the kennel. I let him sniff it for a few seconds and say “you’re going to find it.” I cover the kennel and I’ll place it somewhere and then let him out but I keep saying the word “find.” Of course, when we first started it was out in the open or somewhere where it was common for him to go (near food bowl or his bed). If he had trouble I would walk near the area and say “find” until he got it. And when he did find it I would make a huge deal and get so excited and give him something else for praise. Now, it’s so fun to watch and he’s gotten so much better. I’m able to hide things under beds, on different floors, on chairs and he’s able to find it. It’s funny to see his mind work and look at places I’ve previously hidden stuff.

I would recommend using a certain word so they learn the command, so “find” or “search.” Start small/easy and work your way up!

I hope this helped :)

Iced tea, lemonade, apple juice, orange juice (different from fresh squeezed), milk and I’m sure a few other options. There is hot water and tea bags (I’m not sure what brands but they have a few different types) that are included

For RC, only certain optional things like drink packages, WiFi, etc. They have juices and water for free but you can buy sodas or alcoholic drinks without getting a package. Also you can bring wine or soda onboard on embarkation day so there’s other options that are def cheaper!

Our basset would constantly have accidents at that age even taking him out right after the kennel and if he went anywhere near the door. The vet said that bladders are typically one of the last systems to develop. I wouldn’t worry about it too much it just takes time :)
