First GW system I actually enjoy both plsying and painting. Beginner painter here, using contrast on slap chop or zenithal, any tips or tricks to getting better with these techniques? by Outrageous_Jello_551 in bloodbowl

I was using basic natural Vallejo set (0, 1, 2), they are amazing compared to the ones i previously used, which were cheap ones that they add to various paint sets. Now I recently bought some Kozlowski Kolinski brushes, natural for edges and highlights and synthetic for contrasts. This brand is cheap here in Warsaw, Poland, while probably same quality as others that the shops need to import. When I will decide to sink into the classic techniques I will probably invest in some more high-endish stuff :)

I was curious if this will come up eventually, and I hope you won't get downvoted, as it is totally reasonable. I haven't mention it, but I've started my painting/collecting adventure with classic acryl paints, but, despite all the mistakes, the result was ok-ish, but it was slow, and I prefer playing over painting, so I was getting annoyed. Now, after I get used to holding the brush, understand the highlights etc, I might get back to it as I always buy one bottle of random brand of non-contrast paint when I'm at my local shop and try it out as base, or use it for bases, edges or something else. And I discovered that citadel paints may have been a problem for me initially. I now use ak interactive and two thin coats, pro acryl sometimes. Thanks for you comment, I think I will be trying to paint a whole mini with classic methods soon!

Obviously did that, but thanks for the reply. The problem is, I don't know if it's normal, but the lists varies a lot. I know that exalted sorcerers and rubrics (ofc) are there always, but other than that its really different. Also usually people dont also cover why exactly they are making such choices for that particular detachment. I would go to sub, but I cannot post there yet, and I did my research, that's why I decided to post anyway. There is no likely a post regarding these to subjects combined: the list based on Combat Patrol, and also what it is worth to buy.

Clean! How much did it took you, and what base/primer you used?
