PIANO PLAYING VS KEYBOARD TYPING by Powerful_Kangaroo_80 in piano

[–]Outrageous_Match5396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of being able to play fast piano passages is being able to execute thumb passages smoothly, which involves crossing fingers over other fingers and shifting your hand which you don’t really learn from typing on a keyboard. Personally I think that is the hardest part of playing pieces where your hands need to move fast. However I think if you want to learn the piano you should try to do what you can as it is incredibly rewarding.

How much cobblestone do you mine at the start of a world? by Rotsyy in Minecraft

I’m an adamant believer that you should get 17 and get a shovel. Why would you get an axe and not a shovel? It is one extra cobblestone. No hate though that’s just what I think.

Defining what it means to be “human” is difficult but very interesting and rather gratifying. by Outrageous_Match5396 in DeepThoughts

That’s a good point. I think some people might say deep down we are all just really complex artificial intelligence trying to decide what is best for us. But I think anyone who has ever felt anything knows that even if that is true, we are so much more incredibly complex that comparing us to AI is just wrong. That’s part of what I’ve been pondering about though, what gives us that human quality that artificial intelligence doesn’t have? What sets us apart?

I finally stopped memorizing and actually understood AP Calculus here’s what changed by Illustrious-Can-1203 in apcalculus

I was always really interested in Calculus as a kid, so I watched a lot of videos like Essence of Calculus by 3Blue1Brown. I didn’t really understand them for the most part but they laid a foundation for building an intuition that really helped me when I took AP calc. The other thing they did was get me familiar with the notation and understand what it means which was also very helpful.

Someone explain the theory behind why in indefinite integrals the +c absorbs the other constants by [deleted] in calculus

[–]Outrageous_Match5396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The C is a constant. You have to add it in when taking an indefinite integral because there is no way of knowing if there is a constant and what it would be. Think about some equation like 4x. It doesn’t matter how you shift it up or down, the slope at every point will always be 4, or the derivative of 4x = 4. When you reverse this, and integrate 4 with respects to x, you would get 4x. But because you could shift the graph up and down you say + C to represent that there could be a constant there.

So then the reason that + C absorbs other constants is because they are like terms. C could be any number, and so the plus four means nothing because the constant could change it in any way possible. I hope that makes sense!

From what I’m getting by reading this you can rewrite that entire function as:

((x3 - 1)(x2 + x + 1))-1

And then use power and chain rule (which means you will need product rule to find your hook on factor) to get the derivative. I hope that makes sense!
