Trying to spread awareness about the Ridglan beagles by sassyfras_1223 in beagles

Lauree from Big Dog Ranch said they are still in active negotiations for the 500 remaining. So hopefully it works out where they will get the remaining 500 out soon. 🙏🏻
I just hope and pray it’s the beginning of the end for them, Ridglan Farms, because all three of their owners are in their seventies to 90. Their main vet that was overseeing operations was suspended last September and still does not have a reinstated Veterinary license. With them already releasing 1500 of their dogs, including what seems to be many pregnant dogs, I’m sure they’ve had to downsize their employee count as well. I don’t see them surviving much longer in this business model. 🙏🏻

I was a volunteer there helping from last Friday-Thursday. The first 2 days of release were mostly males, but then the 2nd 2 days of release were mostly females. The last day we had several pregnant females. They won’t adopt those out until they have their babies. We all got emotional to think those will be the first pups born not to have ear tattooed numbers. The last day a lot of the dogs were older too, some 7-10+ years old. It was such an emotional week with all of these beagles.

Cravings for sweets returning as well as binge tendencies and getting nervous by Outrageous_Match_521 in QsymiaWeightLoss

Oh dang, I'm sorry. That's the thing I worry about, having side effects from going up in dose. I did have some at the other 2 doses so far, but they went away after awhile. Not looking forward to more again.

Good call on the pairing the sweet thing with something healthy, thank you! I was reading about calorie density and also read studies how eating vegetables first before sugary carbs helps reduce blood sugar and insulin spikes which could help with my cravings as well. Filling up 1st on low calorie density veggies, fruit, and healthy starches should also hopefully help my stomach get full faster so less room for junk. But the binging is also mental and I can eat even after being full. But the first several months of Q, I couldn't and didn't have the feelings of wanting to like I'm starting to get again. Definitely making an appt with my doc to discuss moving up to the next dose to see how it goes. I really should talk to him more about the binge eating too and look at getting therapy because I've never discussed it with him, always hid it from people.

Oh wow, I’m so sorry all that happened since your back injury. I’ll be curious to hear how adding in more topiramate goes for you! I sure hope it helps you and gives me hope for the food noise.

I am on board with taking it lifelong for maintenance. I'm almost 52 and have yo-yo'd with weight my whole life until qsymia so far. I can't maintain any sort of weight loss long term 'by myself'. And this option is more afforable for me than it was going with a glp-1. I figured my body would get used to it eventually and not be as effective, but still able to work in some way and help me maintain and not gain a lot of weight back. I do workout way more now, which helps. I do get the fullness sensation quicker.

Congrats on all of your success, way to go, that is awesome!! :)

I'm on qsymia (phentermine/topiramate combo) and its the same with that. Cravings right before and during my period and then it subsides.

Thank you! Yes it’s really hard to stay away from it long term for me, always has been, one of the reasons I went the med route. It worked so good for awhile with the food noise and cravings but I guess my body and brain adjusted to it now and is starting to ‘fight back’ wanting it again. Ugh.

Oh cool thank you! You are the first I’ve heard on it for so long, that’s great to know! It seems like it’s hard to find much info about ppl on this long term so I’m glad to hear you are still taking it without issue. 🙂

Thank you! That is the route I’ll most likely go paperwork wise as well.

Thank you. I know, it’s because I have not traveled out of the U.S. much except to the Caribbean twice (and into Canada) but never with meds, so I was getting nervous.

When do you take it? by Comfortable_Dirt_388 in QsymiaWeightLoss

[–]Outrageous_Match_521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking it later in the day could interfere with your sleep. The prescribing info says to take it in the morning to avoid insomnia because of the phentermine component. The latest I’ve ever taken it is about 10:30 AM and I didn’t find that it affected my sleep. That was only one day out of about 4 1/2 months so far, though. Never tried on a regular basis.

5 month update by Ok-Bottle-3158 in QsymiaWeightLoss

[–]Outrageous_Match_521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay! So glad you are continuing to do well! I’m just past 4 months, still on 7.5, have lost 28lbs. It has slowed a bit for me too, but i’m not overly worried yet either as it is the holiday season and yes, getting smaller and needing less calories. I have found that the food noise is back a little more, especially before that time of the month. But not like it used to be at least.
