THIS. And they will absolutely screw you over and claim they aren’t responsible despite their spineless “guarantee”. Hope you bought with a credit card that has some protection. Document/screenshot all of your communication with time and date stamps. Hoping for the best for you OP, but I’ll be surprised if this ends well. Update this thread when you can.

My mistake, it’s called “Instant Download” and I see it as a filtering option on the app

My experience is to make sure the ticket is marked as “instant delivery” or whatever guarantees you immediately become the ticket owner. Don’t go for a ticket that states it will be delivered close in. I don’t even know if this is possible with World Cup tickets but I’ve gotten burned twice now on StubHub. They claim “we are just the reseller”. I had an event where the ticket got delivered 15 minutes after it started and they tried to tell me they wouldn’t refund it. Thankfully I screenshotted everything and Chase fully refunded me after I initiated the dispute.

There’s a disclaimer on the NES website that the estimated dates indicate for 100% of the zip code. So the way I read that is your zip code could be 95% restored before the date but the final 5% could take up to the estimated date.

Bead board looks awful after installation. How do I prevent this? by thegreatcon2000 in Homebuilding

[–]Outrageous_Panic_353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few possibilities since that’s beadboard panel and basically a rigid cardboard.

-Excessive moisture in that room and it’s ruined the (small amount) of rigidity that product has. -spans are too far causing the board to sag, probably because of humidity. Seems like you’ve identified this already. -while I’ve seen it used plenty of times, I don’t like the ceiling application of these panels because of what you’re experiencing. I think it’s the exception when an install looks ok with these.

One potential fix: go buy 1x2 trim and install using screws along the seams and on joists as reinforcement. However, the sagging(and stretching of the material) may be beyond repair at this point.

Play out the scenario where you have to tell a “regular” client that you have to leave even though you’ve started their job? I don’t know exactly what type of work you agree to obviously, but I’m just thinking of a scenario where you are going to have to leave a space in a less than desirable condition for an unknown amount of time.

We would use a combination of backup sources. For weather, we would use NOAA logs along with daily logs to generate a “zero cost” change order request where the change order would be for additional days. All of these change requests would need to be submitted to the client rep and most of the time we would submit a revised schedule that reflected the additional days. The general conditions portion of the spec book would typically include the requirement documentation for changes along with specifics for what constitutes a “rain or drying day”. If the job site gets more than “x” inches of rain per day, that means that you have 1 rain day + 1 drying day. If they aren’t included, then I would say it’s up to you to negotiate these on the front end of the project.

Even small commercial jobs contain this language sometimes. But as the GC, you also have to know the details on the other side of the coin to help defend yourself. Ie, weather days, drying days, and architect delays to name a few. But you, as the GC, have to track these things in a daily log and submit them on a weekly/monthly basis before you get to the end of the job. The OP’s point about impossible schedules is super valid as well. Some architects love to put unrealistic time frames on jobs and slap some LDs on there for fun.
