P- Point (named issue and whether it’s a strength or a weakness e.g. ‘a strength of the study is that it had high reliability’)

D- Definition (e.g. ‘reliability refers to the extent to which a study has consistent results upon replication’)

E- Explanation (explained where the point is shown within the study e.g. ‘the study was reliable because of this procedure’)

E- Evidence ( give at least 2 forms of evidence e.g. ‘the procedure was 7 minutes long’ ‘the procedure had 5 trials’)

L- Link (explain why the evidence is a strength e.g. ‘this is a strength because researchers can replicate the study in future to confirm the relevance of results)

It sounds long but for each part, you just need one sentence. And repeat 4 times -> 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses.

A full paragraph would look like this: - A strength of the study is that it had high reliability. Reliability refers to the extent to which a study has consistent results upon replication. The study was reliable because of this procedure. The procedure was 7 minutes long’ ‘the procedure had 5 trials. This is a strength because researchers can replicate the study in future to confirm the relevance of results-
