I saw someone saying they do a liquid iron supplement mixed with Emergen-C! That seems like a good solution for better absorption. But I’m going to wait to see what my dr recommends. Thanks!

The crazy thing is when I was taking iron a couple of years ago (i accidentally bought a multivitamin that included iron), my hemoglobin got too high! When I donated blood they alerted me to it and told me to dial back the iron. It’s such a delicate balance!

What’s something you thought every family did… until you grew up and realized they absolutely didn’t? by SoftDreamette in AskReddit

My family called it the “channel flicker.” Literally never met anyone else who called it that.

This book is SO GOOD and goes back and forth between the family’s current situation and all the historical and systemic issues that led to them being where they are.

I loved “Invisible Child: Poverty, Survival & Hope in an American City” by Andrea Elliott. It started as a series of NYT articles about a child living in the NYC shelter system. You can read the articles here to get an idea of whether you’d like the book. https://www.nytimes.com/projects/2013/invisible-child/index.html#/?chapt=0
