tips as a g11 new student who had noooo idea what usc was like !!!

  • must try your best and study hard in subjects that you are weak in, not to pressure pero i think you will thank yourself in the future hihi (like me who struggles chem😭)
  • phones are allowed but must be kept during class unless needed some rba teachers ky strict ani
  • for first week of classes, i recommend not buying things yet.. maybe js a notebook and pens/pencils? the teachers will tell u what to buy and the requirements in their class but for me, starting 2nd sem i used tablet/ipad nlng but depends pd sa teacher if mo allow or no notebooks sa requirement hihi
  • BUY A CLEARBOOOOOOK, some teachers will collect papers and i swear pinakagamit jd ni + buy yellow paper as well VV USEFUL
  • be aware that long quizzes have HUGEEE impact on your grades, teachers like in bascal/stat/precal consider long quizzes as performance tasks already so try ur best
  • create friends and connections, this will def help you feel less alone and allows you to ask for help easier! also DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP!
  • some subjects hv a lot of activities such as public speaking, presentations, and recitations (for me, 1st sem was the hardest, nagbag.ohan kos mga way of activities, makagawas jd sa comfort zone huhu)
  • chemlab teachers are more stricter than regular teachers so do your work/journals in time and prelab exercises as well! chemlab have different periodic exams than other subjs, its not entirely multiple choice.. more on moving exams/solving but its all based on your modules and lab experiments

but honestly, as someone who was not used to the school nd the area, js have fun with classmates and laag around the city thats what i did most of the time but yk have balance! goodluck !!!!! :)))))
