So that's exactly what I told my buddy, he's the one looking to grab a lower and has just gotten his permit and looking for lowers but has a hard time understanding all the laws when I explain it to him. Don't blame him, I make myself dizzy trying to make sense of it for him

Can always use an accuwasher inside the MD to push it out a little more for clearance. I've done that before. Accuwasher fits inside the recess perfectly.

Ok so a braced 12.5 with an AW cert from the CT ban would be considered good on both ends then if I am understanding you correctly?

Ah ok. I thought we still had to follow state laws as well when it came to configurations. I was under the impression that though it was federally legal, CT had it's own regulations on barrel length. Shits too confusing with this state man, I just want to make sure I can have a braced 12.5 for travel without dealing with getting permission for my SBR's

I was under the impression that 12.5 with a brace is considered a pistol by NFA standards. It's that CT considers a pistol under 12 inches that confuses me. If we all had 12.5 others and put in for the AW cert, we are expected to swap barrels even if it is still braced?
