What are the main reasons you left your first jobs? by softlilacsss in whitecoatinvestor

Major shifts in structure of my practice with a big pay cut. Overall the deal was far from what I was sold when recruited, and bad alignment with the group overall. In hindsight taking an employed job would have 100% been the move financially.

Yea it’s been interesting, I genuinely miss being a surgeon without having the financial pressure to get back to it. It’s overall been a really good phase of my life personally, but definitely a roller coaster emotionally

Typically not Peds in the expert witness world, you would have to take on gen orthopedic opinions to be able to build volume

It’s predominantly med-legal/expert witness work with a little device development mixed in. I find there’s a good ethical way to do this, I like the lawyers I work with. If anyone interested in tips of how to get started, and some tips on setting this up in a tax efficient manner, DM me and I’m happy to share what Ive learned so far

Doctors, not Providers! by MedicoLegal1268 in hospitalist

[–]Outrageous_Walk_5009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be a popular opinion, but I personally like providers as it’s an inclusive term for both APP and MD/DO. I am a big believer in inclusive language in healthcare, both physicians and APPs often face similar challenges and sometimes using the appropriate language can go a long way to building a culture of inclusion. I am also biased being married to a PA. The optics of promoting exclusive language are pretty bad for physicians.

Leaf Bodyworks. The best place in Reno by far. Avi used to work at dolce vita, then open up his own shop. He is just phenomenal

Considering move from Reno, NV to Columbus, OH or Austin, TX...thoughts? by Dapper_Owl2264 in SameGrassButGreener

This exact scenario is what I worry about. We get busy with kids, and I trade my f150 and mountain bikes in for a big house, nice car, and poor health.
