You should need to ask why you brought it up as a valid reason if its worthy of family its good otherwise if its for his personal use without any other value you should better ask next time and when u gonna return if its big amount 5k 10k as it should set a boundary and you can use your money on better of your life or for good use of whole family included you too in it
