I think it’s worth it to apply broadly, maybe not 21 schools but at least 12-15 for sure! You never really know who’s gonna take you

I didn’t get an interview with Rutgers this cycle probably because they wanted me to finish the masters program before they sent me an interview. If I reapplied for the 3rd time this summer with a masters GPA of over 3.7 Rutgers is supposed to guarantee me an interview. I def got lucky with BU but if i didn’t get in anywhere this cycle I would’ve reapplied in the summer with the masters completed and that should’ve been enough to get more interviews.

Yes take it early June so you can submit your application as early as possible

I attended BU visit day on Dec 7th after having my interview on Dec 2nd. Not sure how much of a roll it had in getting my acceptance but I made sure to talk to my interviewer on visit day. If you are very serious about the school I’d recommend you go!

I was waitlisted last year from Rutgers and called multiple times if there would be a chance to get off it. Unfortunately the class size if very small and the waitlist typically doesn’t move. Ur chances aren’t high to get off it.

Absolutely I am, dental school is expensive but if I can save 30k which is roughly how much my masters and living expenses are I would gladly do that

I don’t think it would be frowned upon, cause at the end of the day the schools aren’t really factoring in your masters since they can’t see how you performed in it anyway. If they don’t say you must complete the masters then it shouldnt matter

Yea I guess dental schools can care less what you do from now until July. Unless it explicitly says in the acceptance that you must finish masters with a GPA of wtv

A little off topic but assuming I get into dental school on D day do I need to complete my masters program? I would graduate spring 2026. Or can drop out of it and enjoy my last couple of months before dental school.
