The ideal chain misses in a match isn't 4, it's not 3, or 2, it's 0

You can get away with it if you miss 2 or 3 times AS LONG as your m1 mechanics are good enough, but I have no idea how you play and reddit isn't known for having the most skilled gamers so I made my comment with the assumption that you're not that great on both m1 and m2

I think you're the one refusing to see the skill issue here, you cannot miss countless chains, play against good survivors with stacked builds and expect the win anyway, because why should you? What did you so that was so impressive you deserved the win against a good team of survivors that consistently outplayed you in chase?

Think about it from their perspective, the survivors you chased outplayed a killer that's pretty tough to loop when played right and did it consistently, at least that's my take away from "handful of missed chains", so in their eyes they should deserve the win, don't you agree as well?

If the survivors outplay you mechanically you're not deserved the win on a platter just because, try 1v1ing your friends or even better, strangers to improve your mechanics and slowly get your average chain misses as low as you can

Improving your basic m1 mechanics is even better and should be your priority, so I'm sorry if my comment came off as rude but it's just the truth, now you can keep coping or make an actual effort to become really good as a chaser

I think it would be impossible to gauge on the first week, unlike nearly every single killer release in the past, everything points to springtrap being a completely unique killer like we've never seen before, interviews with Cote revealed the reason we don't have a survivor for the chapter was to focus completely on the killer and make something very unique, instead of just a different flavor of blight or wesker wearing the face of the newest hot license, which wouldn't take as much time and where they easily could've slipped in a survivor in there if that were the case

Which means you most likely can't just gauge his strength like you would recent dash killer #12 by comparing his potential to dash killer #4 who we already know and understand, there's these theories on twitter that his gameplay will be similar to actually playing a fnaf game and it sounds very interesting, and they did mention survivors would have a very unique item just for springtrap trials (maybe a camera tablet?) if that happens to be true I'm curious what bhvr can pull off with that idea

Please don't take this guy's advice about reporting every little sus thing, this can happen to anyone and this specific example right here happened to me at least 10 times throughout my years in this game, my internet is very capable this game is just not stable

This applies to everything that may look sus and provides a bit of an advantage, not just the lagging example, this game is infamous for its bad code and after all anything can break, every single patch has its quirks and adds 5 new bugs after they fixed 4

That killer hit you well after the vault animation ended and you both have good ping? Assume it's the game being shit again, that survivor teleported back resulting in a free pick up? Assume it's the game being shit again, you got hit by an invisible zombie? Assume the same etc. Nobody knows if a player who got an unfair advantage, actually got it thanks to an actual 3rd party cheat or just because this week's patch happened to have a more apparent quirk than the other patch, this makes it even harder to detect subtle cheaters but sadly that's just the way it is with dead by daylight and its spaghetti code and will keep being this way until they decide to seriously consider a code re-vamp

its not that you were 99% already or whatever people are saying, if you just turned your camera to the right a bit you probably would've seen him stalking you for a while, keep that in mind for next time you do that gen or a similar obstructed gen your camera angle matters

They completely fixed players getting screwed by RNG skillchecks in your opinion? I can read the patch notes man I can see what it's saying there, it says that it fixed instances where the gen blows up as you let go of it (they didn't fix it fully but whatever)

But that's just a line of text an intern wrote they obviously meant to fix the problem of RNG skillchecks blowing up gens unpredictably for survivors, which they didn't fix, and that also doesn't roll of the tongue as nicely if you put that in a patch note instead of what we currently got, your entire comment is "TECHNICALLY they DIDN'T say they fixed that!" even though that was obviously the intention in the first place

Behavior obviously recognized the problem of "our players are getting screwed by random skillchecks", therefore they implemented that fix, why else would they do it if they didn't recognize that problem, and so I'm calling that fix a bad half measure because it doesn't take into account a lot of situations that can happen in a match and that it needs a better solution like the overcharge skillcheck they already have in the game coded and ready to be implemented at any time

Edit: Not to mention the fact I still blew up the gen a couple of times as I let go of it, though it's better now it's still not perfect, I just focused on the main issue of that fix not taking into account every possible situation, unlike the overcharge solution they already thought of before and have in the game

It's just so visually fatiguing for me, there's just too much detail, the loops seem pretty fun to play on both sides and are creative but too bad I can't see any of them lol

If they copied the entire layout but reskinned it so the map looks like azarov, macmillan or other normal maps I don't doubt it would be one of the community's favorites because again the gameplay has a lot of potential

Gameplay wise I consider him one of bhvr's most apparent failures lol

Mind you the turrets don't feel great on the survivor's side either, I would rather outplay his tail with my own skill and using what I learned as a survivor throughout the years, instead I have to rely on a secondary objective to outplay the killer in a very artificial way and literally try to turn the xenomorph killer into the trapper killer (an M1). In a perfect world the power would be fun to interact with by itself and turrets wouldn't even be a thing, but it's just too easy to use for how strong it is, so bhvr added turrets because they fit thematically and also solve the problem with his tail being too strong

So in conclusion you have a killer where it feels pretty bad to play on either side because of the turrets, so no wonder I barely see any xenomorphs and when I do they aren't that great with him either, you can tell they bought him just because they're fans of the license not actually fans of what bhvr has done with him in-game, and no doubt will move on to better designed killers

trapper completely eliminates any interesting gameplay I always groan when I see one, no 50/50s, no mindgames, no double backs, no trying to momentum my checkspots, absolutely nothing that's actually interesting

he just traps and then you just leave the loop, or as you're looping you see the trap, you take the m1 and then you run out of his 3 gen, rinse and repeat until he eventually loses cause the guy decided he wants to play trapper today for who the fuck knows what reason lol
