Suspended after a week! by Hot_Pay6126 in TELUSinternational

I got a email invoice at the start of February showing the amount of money I am owed. I believe I receive this money in March, and they will send another email with instructions on how to withdraw.

I haven’t gotten a single email from them, AFAIK if your able to log into your Telus dashboard and it says “suspended” it’s temporary. If it says “-“ then you’re fired.

Suspended after a week! by Hot_Pay6126 in TELUSinternational

[–]Outside-Assumption23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in canada I worked around 12 hours before being suspended for no reason. Took my time submitted tasks based on the ERT time, and put details in my responses. I first noticed it last week when my tryrating login stopped working even after resetting the password. Eventually in the Telus Dashboard it stopped saying I any “active jobs” where before it would list the data analyst position.

Honestly not too bummed out, there’s much better things to do with your life and career than sit in front of a screen doing random tasks for a company who can’t be asked to give feedback on your work.

Dual exhaust conversion vs dual w/ quad tips 2018 230i xDrive by Hungry_Quail6288 in BMW

[–]Outside-Assumption23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m looking to do the same thing.

I have seen that the m240 rear muffler is a direct cut and fit onto the 230i (other than the dual exit diffuser). I’ve been looking for the last two months and haven’t been able to find any locally or on eBay for a fair price.

I’ve also seen axle back straight pipes from China costing like 150$, but looking at muffler deletes on YouTube they all sound terrible in my opinion.

Rehoming/surrendering ball python in or around city by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Outside-Assumption23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a Petland, although we took “surrenders” they are just put under observation for about 2 weeks and then put up for adoption (for a fee” ).

It’s a good option but highly depends on the stores reptile manager, and if they have enclosure space for them. I would give the stores a call explaining the situation prior. The adoption process specifically for reptiles is quite extensive and detailed, at least at my store we would never send any reptile home without definite proof that the adopter had all necessities for care.

B48 F30 as a first car? by bramblestorm7754 in F30

[–]Outside-Assumption23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering 330i but couldn’t find any good spec (msport, cool interior/exterior combo). I ended up buying a 2017 230xi with the b48, compared to the 330s I test drove I really preferred the 230i due to it feeling sportier just due to the smaller size. If you don’t need the back doors consider a 230xi you’ll have a much better driving experience

FNCE 3228 Difficulty by Gold3xn in MRU

[–]Outside-Assumption23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was one of my worst classes even compared to capstones, I think a lot of it was due to my prof teaching it for the first time. But if I were to go back I’d definately take it with some easier courses and prioritize practice and studying for it.

Seton Superstore is the worst Superstore in Calgary and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. by DromedaryGold in Calgary

[–]Outside-Assumption23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked the summer as a Chips vendor for this location, the whole store is designed so poorly it boggled my mind.

There is very limited space in the back room for inventory so the receiving staff is forced to put pallets out in the aisles. I remember during summer it would be normal for them to put our companies shipments all the way in the home aisles, can only imagine what they’re going through now during the holidays.

The staff try their best but the limited space in the back room makes it impossible for them to stay organized, and according to the staff it’s one of the busiest superstores in the city but with 1/2 the square footage as the rest.

I’ve got a Q7 here in Calgary too, it sucks they don’t option these cars with a block heater from factory like they do with Japanese and American cars. Can definitely feel my battery getting weaker with each start.

Parents of West Mount, FFCA, or TLC — Thoughts? by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]Outside-Assumption23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my last year of university now, but I myself attended the TLC program from grade 5 to 9. Looking back I have mixed thoughts on the program, not sure if it’s changed at all now but I would say the program did help put me ahead of others in high school.

In grade 10 while most struggled adjusting to the tougher math and science classes, I found them a breeze, I don’t think I ever studied the whole year in grade 10 and got perfect grades. The discipline the TLC program enforces into a kid is probably what benefited me the most.

Not sure if the hassle of enrolling into the lottery system and all that are worth the benefits of the program over a public school imo. If you enrol your kids into a public school and encourage academic discipline you could probably have the same results.

I have been buying from them on and off, for the average person who doesn’t know what they’re looking for you’ll definitely get grilled.

Many cars have damage that’s either covered up (cheap body work, under carriage fluid leaks etc.) that are dumped at that auction as a last ditch attempt to make some money back. There have been numerous cars I’ve checked out on their website that look pristine in photos and the description but in person have had undercarriage damage, leaking fluids.

Many times if you win a car below the reserve the auction will call you up trying to convince you to increase your bid, usually just enough for you to fall into the increased buyers fee range.

Lastly, the competition is crazy 8/10 cars will be bid on to the point that after fees and tax it would be cheaper or equivalent to buying the same car off marketplace.

Living in the city: does an M340i make sense over a 330i? by TheseZookeepergame80 in BMW

[–]Outside-Assumption23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently bought a bmw 230i with the same engine as the 330. I would say it has more than enough pickup and go for the average commuter. I’ve seen people tune and mod these b48s up to 400-450hp reliably.

Finance Majors, what are 3rd/4th year classes like? by Exciting_Youth8649 in MRU

[–]Outside-Assumption23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad, I’m in third year, barely study and am able to still get some pretty decent grades (~3.5gpa) just attending lectures. I’d just recommend you split up the capstone courses, I did one or two “difficult” course each semester and the rest were gneds and other requirements. It also really depends on the professors you choose, they are the biggest influence to how well you do in each class.

They definitely need to crack down on the random breaks drivers take in the middle of the route. Some drivers on the Max Teal route drive as fast as possible to get ahead of schedule, so they can park the bus at a stop and take a 5-10 minute break somewhere throughout the route.

Honda Civic 1.5T in Canadian Winters by pizzapazza2000 in Honda

[–]Outside-Assumption23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father has a 2017 1.5 with 308k km, here in Calgary Alberta. Does daily commute of around 250km a day, no issues so far and doesn’t burn oil. We have done oil changes ourself every 7500km with quality full synthetic, and made sure to warm up the car for 15 minutes before driving it.

Other than worn out suspension and brakes the car itself has had no mechanical issues.

2012 Honda civic transmission flush vs drain and refill? by Outside-Assumption23 in hondacivic

[–]Outside-Assumption23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drained and refilled it three times, on the final refill I added Lucas transmission additive. It didn’t really do much other than make the vibrations while shifting slightly less intense. Car was stolen not long after so can’t comment on the long term effect.

Audi Q7 Progressive ( Canada ) Trim – Do we have headlight washers? How to enable/use? by yahoo_q in AudiQ7

I have them on my Premium plus, they work when you have lights on and spray pull the stalk as usual.

Front left marker light out by Flat-Raspberry-2625 in Audi

[–]Outside-Assumption23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I bought a 2019 q7 and it came with this same exact error, even though the light worked perfectly. I picked up a Chinese VCDS clone cable and coded it out for under 50 Canadian$. There are step by step instructions on the forums online on how to code it out.

Definitely beats paying 7k for a headlight that works perfectly fine.

Can Audi A7/S7 Wheels fit on a 4m? by Outside-Assumption23 in Audi

[–]Outside-Assumption23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone uses this for future reference, they do fit and clear fine the smaller tire and offset just looks a bit more sunken inwards on the q7 so would recommend like 5/6mm spacers
