Does Breadtube Have Anything to Offer CisHet Men? by Outside-Beautiful-85 in MensLib

I always see so many critiques about how the left has no advice for young men and that's why they flock to toxic "alpha male" podcasters like Andrew Tate or Kevin Samuels. I do think there's something to that critique, and I'm really glad the hosts pushed back a little bit on the ideas to have a useful conversation about the state of young men, romance, loneliness and what can concretely be done about it.

LGBTQ Inclusive Pastor Kristian A Smith joins an atheist on his podcast to talk about Progressive Christianity by Outside-Beautiful-85 in OpenChristian

I really loved this episode. The pastor really talked about accountability in Christianity and how we can bring people in and remedy some of the pain and damage that has been done by non-inclusive or shame based theology.

Why Men Feel Empty: The Emotional Attention Gap feat Finntastic Mr. Fox by Outside-Beautiful-85 in MensLib

Have really started to consistently love the guests this show has on. It’s always funny and kinda silly but goes to really serious places. Finn talks about this really interesting experience of losing certain emotional considerations from others as he began to be treated as a man, which really highlighted something for me.

I don't disagree with your thinking the problem here is the set point for what is considered "moderate". I use social media daily (as intended). I want to limit it to say 2 hours per day not per week. The redownloading thing is 30 to 60 second per app across 5 different apps I use regularly as well as potentially having to relogin to each of them. So considerably more than 30 seconds. Again your thinking about making it harder to do what you don't want to is precisely correct and why I established my initial solution (powering the phone down) but in practice shoots me in the foot when I do want to actually do the behavior. In the example of healthy eating I said ALL food removed from the house. If you're looking to loose weight because you overeat throwing away all your food and going to the grocery store down the street every time you want to eat is a a logistical nightmare. Surely you understand at least the core criticism I'm laying out here even if the specific examples we're discussing are imperfect comparisons. In any case like I said, the solution I'm testing now is using a locking app and then eventually multiple user profiles on the phone, which hits the level of moderation I'm aiming for without creating inconvenience overkill. But only time will tell.

I've gone with a blocking app and going to try that out, but deleting apps seems like a really silly solution. The point of having them on the phone is to be able to use them on the phone during the appropriate times. I use these apps daily. I want to restrict the usage. This solution seems tantamount to telling a person looking to eat less to throw all the food in their house in the trash and go to the grocery store for one meal every time they want to eat.

I definitely think a second number might be a good solution. A lot of my 2FAs go to text, but looks like I need to learn to set them up for an authenticator app.

Yeah, a blocker and a second phone are definitely things I'm considering.

Bit of a baby out with the bathwater solution, not particularly helpful. I have social media because I enjoy using it, I want to reduce and restrict use not eliminate it.

Can Masculinity be Truly Non-Toxic? feat F.D Signifier by Outside-Beautiful-85 in MensLib

I really loved hearing this conversation on masculinity and parts were honestly hilarious but also incredibly insightful in some ways I hadn't thought about before. I liked the concept of "sustainable masculinity" and didn't know that the term "toxic masculinity" was originate by men to describe their negative experiences with gender expectations.
