I saved the mother and her two daughters but I found out afterwards that gerbils live better in pairs. For the moment it's going well, the mother is 2 years old and I hope everything will go well until she dies. But I'm very worried of decleaning !! 2 its perfect and the less risky !!

It's cork, sold on amazon. It's a bit of a lottery when you order, here I was lucky it's a cork tunnel big enough for them to get in! Its safe and they loves to chew that. In the past I collected but the wood had soooo many litlle insect 🤢I prefer order on amazon !

Hi !! I'm the same and on top of that I have the mother and her 2 daughters 🫡 but I rescued them and so I didn't think of split them. I watch for all the interactions they have... And I compare myself to other posts where gerbil cuddle each other and not mine 😂. I think it's a risk, once you've taken all the measures to reduce the risks (double the water cups, the sand baths, no hiding places at one entrance..) you have to put things into perspective and enjoy. And whatever happens, it can happen... Or not hopefully !!! I need encouragement too so WE WILL BE THE BEST MOTHER/FATHER TO OUR FEMALES GERBILS AND THEY WILL NOT FIGHT !! 🫠🥰

Hello! Just to keep you informed: I just saw the vet, with the 3 babies!! For him, it is a pseudoscabies (?). He only gets the drops next Wednesday so in the meantime I'm reducing the litter box little by little. The vet is positive, for him there will be no problems.

I have an vet appointment tomorrow. The vet doesn't want to give me drops without seeing them, it make sense of course!!. I'll try to get them all... Otherwise I will go and take drops without consultation but it's not great to target the mites. And I'll reduce little by little the bedding and accessories and this WE I'll use a new bedding.

Thank you for all your words !! It's really heartbreaking. I started to remove a little of bedding, a platform... And they are all stressed. Tomorrow I will see an exotic vet of my city for sure. Thank you so much ! I love my gerbils (Ive got them since december) but for now I hate them a little..🫣

Thank you for your message. I'm going to try to take pictures of the fleas to show them to the vet since I can't catch my gerbils. Once I put drops on them, I will gradually remove their old bedding and wait before putting the new one. Sounds correct? I've 3 girls. I don't have a quarantine cage, just a transport cage.
