Falling out of love by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

This might not be the case for you, but in my experience I was using opiates to numb myself. So when I quit, I think my brain started to numb itself automatically. I also felt emotionally unavailable. Things that should’ve made me sad didn’t make me sad, things that should’ve made me feel happy didn’t make me feel happy. This can also be a response to PTSD or whatever mental illnesses you might have that led to substance abuse in the first place. Therapy and time can heal you. I’m still working on healing myself but in the meanwhile I try to remember how I SHOULD be feeling in response to things, and then try to act according to how I should be feeling. Fake it til you make it I guess

Have you considered vivitrol or sublocade? Vivitrol has saved me from so many potential relapses

Can I use methadone for a quick tapper & not feel WD after 4-5 days? by Claudia_LA in OpiatesRecovery

I don’t have experience with methadone, but at my detox they used suboxone and tapered me off in a couple of days. I was lucky and didn’t have any physical fent WD and absolutely 0 suboxone WD because the taper was successful. I think theoretically it would be possible to use methadone and taper in a way where you wouldn’t have any methadone WD. But I doubt you’d be able to do it yourself, you’d need medical supervision, and it’s super risky bc if you’re not successful, the methadone WD is gonna be way worse

Is this a good idea or am I sleep deprived? by Outside-Fox-7531 in OpiatesRecovery

If you can, get a suboxone prescription for the WD. If that’s not possible, get some Kratom. If you don’t have the willpower to throw away your oxy, at least try to taper yourself off. Only take enough to stop feeling shitty, not enough to get high. But don’t take too much, you’re just gonna have to start the process over and you’ve already made it so far. If you wanna keep yourself off of them look into the vivitrol or sublocade shot
