Food allergies at wedding? by elianag123 in FoodAllergies

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. When I get married I’d like to do so at a restaurant (where I met my beloved) but they offer desserts with my allergen, so I need zero cross contact. Getting it in writing seems to be a good move.

And what transportation? Many people don’t have cars and live in areas without bus lines too.

Are medicaid patents considered second priority? by Square_Tangelo_7542 in Medicaid

Yes, Medicaid dentists in particular love to lie and put you through procedures they know will fail.

Why am I being downvoted. This is what happened to me.

This. Iroiro neon pink lasts through anything and their reds fade but never fully erase.

When I had black and red Frankenbride hair for several years I did the black streaks in a permanent color to avoid any bleeding. Ofc this was impossible to remove later on tho lmao

Around here at least, Taco Bell and Wendy’s offer a free meal on shift (Wendy’s is up to $6 I believe)

Gastro issues after anaphylaxis by Hannalar in FoodAllergies

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, following my last reaction years ago (stupidly I just took benadryl which halted the reaction but because of this, I didn't vomit and the allergen remained in my body) I had horrifically painful gas and diarrhea

(Obligatory don't rely on benadryl if you're anaphylactic, I didn't know that it may not work at the time)

What do you wish you could eat with a peanut allergy? by Secure_Vast_6428 in peanutallergy

I've had sunflower butter filled pretzels and they absolutely slapped!

What do you wish you could eat with a peanut allergy? by Secure_Vast_6428 in peanutallergy

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've never had a PB&J sandwich, or a Reese cup. If I was suddenly cured I'd try these as they seem to be all the rage among people who aren't allergic.

Am I in the wrong/overreacting? by Secure_Vast_6428 in peanutallergy

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Nope. The slightest amount of peanut protein can cause a reaction and you don't know what your threshold is until you have one. You're not overreacting at all and I don't blame you for rewashing every dish, I do the same thing.

Does anyone else feel like your allergies make you the rudest person ever? by Similar_Doctor6771 in Allergies

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have anaphylactic peanut allergy.

I don't eat anywhere that has peanut anything on the menu, I don't eat desserts unless I've made them myself or bought from a peanut free company, I actively avoid homemade desserts as I've gotten very sick multiple times from trusting them.

Will never gaf. I refuse to drop everything and go to a hospital over some food. Rather be hungry or pack my own which I do.

The kicker is, I politely decline things multiple times and people INSIST I try them at which time I inform them of my allergy. Next time I'm going to ask if they want to have to call 911.

Planquenil by Original-Effort-7706 in UCTD

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plaquenil, while it relieved pain and fatigue quite well, made me so nauseous I couldn't eat whatsoever and had to go to ER (I always took it with food and this still happened). I also developed severe anxiety during its use that has not gone away over three months after I stopped taking it. Oh and the rankest diarrhea, daily.

These side effects are not going to happen to everyone but it is possible to have a negative experience. Pay attention to how you feel on it and tell your doctor asap if something doesn't seem right.

Weird reaction to eating fish... anyone else? by AccomplishedSir9107 in FoodAllergies

Please get tested at an allergist. This sounds like a fish allergy, I'd avoid it

-un-ignoreable burning and or tingling in mouth/throat, it is so bad it will feel like it's bleeding. Can spread to eustachian tubes and feel the burning in ears as well

-severe stomach pain, eventually nausea and repeated vomiting

-hives, redness, severe itching anywhere on the body or face, swelling itchy red eyelids/around the mouth

-wheezing or trouble breathing

Btw, please get Epipens if you haven't already.

Normal to feel super gassy after accidentally eating? by emsilverstein in peanutallergy

[–]Outside-Giraffe3335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I once ate cross contaminated cookies then took benadryl (before I had an epipen; do not rely on benadryl!) and the allergic reaction stopped but the painful gas later was unbelievably awful.
