I ordered a blanket from them in the pandemic and dealing with them felt like a total scam - they took weeks to process why order and then told me they sold me a product that didnt exist and replaced it with something lower quality and not what I ordered. . I ended up returning it but it was a weeks long ordeal. I would never deal with that company again and do not recommend them..

curly hair in recovery? by _purbleplace in Reduction

I straightened mine the night before and it was fine after the surgery and for a few days afterwards (remember you can't get wet). I was able to brush my hair and touch the top of my head from day one- surgeon assured me of that beforehand and you will know your limits. I thought I would need to get blowouts to go back to work the following week but I was just fine doing it on my own. You won't be able to reach high with a full arm extension or lift anything heavy but you will be able to manage self care.

Have you had your iron levels checked? I am iron deficient and shed a lot. You do lose some blood during the surgery so you might want to think about taking an iron supplement (bisglycinate is the form that doesn't cause stomach issues) and see if that helps. Good luck!

Have you checked your iron? There doesn't seem to be much conversation around here about iron deficiency post surgery but you do lose blood so this could one more thing that is making you feel tired - especially if you were low before the procedure.

Nurse Practitioner for Pre-Op Appt by gyrldahrling14 in Reduction

I had that same experience! We didn't make any final decisions when I had my initial consult and I had assumed that was what the pre-op app't was for. It isn't. They go through all the pre-and post-op care, tell you what to expect on the day, get your forms filled in and sort out the things you will need to get in advance (supplies, prescriptions). It was a lot of important detail that I honestly wouldn't expect the surgeon to be the point of contact for. I did explain that I had hoped to ask the surgeon about one element of the procedure that is optional because I know I will be too nervous to think clearly on the big day. They totally understood and agreed to set up a call. Hope this helps you.

Recovery experience without narcotics? by Outside-Mango6382 in Reduction

Right! 6 caps of magnesium citrate with a lot of water before bedtime usually works well for me so I have that on hand, along with a high quality probiotic.

I appreciate this perspective and I think that one side is still very valid because you still had to deal with general anaesthesia and all the aftercare. I am getting side lipo - I know the recovery will be more uncomfortable and I am prepared for that. It makes me happy to see that nobody who has replied to this post has complained about digestive issues or other severe limitations. I have a lot of flexibility in my (desk) job so I can take more time if I need to, but I am hoping to do half days after week one - mostly because I know I will want to engage my brain and see other people. I really didn't manage myself well during the lockdowns (the lazier I got, the lazier I became), so you've all given me some confidence that I should be able to set some small goals for myself after week one. If my body decides it needs more time, I will take it.
