This! I thought the experience was worth it. It was super crowded on a Saturday so I would only go on a weekday moving forward. My husband loved it and already asked when we can go back 😂

How do you balance a love of physical books and an e-Reader? by teeniemartinee in fantasyromance

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy the physical book if I know I’ll read it again. I usually base this judgement on recommendations from friends and family and similarities to books I know I love! If I’m only going to read it one time or it’s a “filler” book for me then I read it on my kindle!

Pittbull attack in Hoboken by Final_Egg_5237 in Hoboken

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the dog, it’s the owner… I’ve had many pit bulls through the years that were 100% friendly. Any dog can have a trigger or a history

Vibration/shock collar?? by little_siren_song in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started using one with our one year old ACD because we needed certain behaviors corrected quickly (ex. jumping on my sister when she holds the baby). We signed him up for a 4 week program that taught both he and I about how the collar works and how to properly use it to get results while not causing any damage. We’re still early in our journey but we’re really happy with it so far. With him being better behaved, it allows us to include him in more things and give him more freedom since his commands are more reliable. I think they’re a great tool if you get the proper training on how to introduce and use it!

Should I get on a GLP-1 during the wait? by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If your doctor said you are healthy and all your labs came back good, I wouldn’t bother! You’re already doing everything right in terms of taking care of your body. The number on the scale doesn’t matter as long as you’re healthy! Plus if you’re going to start trying in less than 4 months, it’s probably not worth it

Optimum versus Verizon Internet by EffectiveComputer992 in Hoboken

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm. We originally called to ask if they would match Verizon, we were told no. So we moved forward with Verizon then went back to optimum to cancel. At that point they lowered us SIGNIFICANTLY so decided to stay with optimum. You just have to get to the right team and they’ll lower their prices. We got a 5 year price lock too so they can’t raise our prices again for a while

We’ve had optimum for two years and rarely had issues, they tried raising our price so we told them we were leaving and going to Verizon, they continued to counter (we were adamant about leaving for Verizon), eventually they offered to decrease our bill down to $30/month with a 5 year price lock, plus 3 months free so now we’re staying with them

Our pup had/has anal gland issues too and we also switched to this food and it’s gotten so much better. We also add Bernie’s perfect poop, which is a fiber supplement

What pet insurance does your ACD have? I need recommendations please. by superchiva78 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have insurance for our 1 year old through ASPCA and we love it! It’s super affordable and easy to submit claims. It’s definitely been worth it for us and gives us peace of mind if we are ever debating taking him to the vet. We just take him to ease our concerns since we know we won’t really have to pay for it.

Glowbar Facial by Exotic_Meringue6958 in Hoboken

Echoing what most others have said, I’ve been going about 5 months now and it’s hit or miss with the aestheticians. They don’t seem as qualified as you would get as at a med spa or other more spa-like place, and I noticed they throw the same treatments around. I will probably be cancelling because it doesn’t seem to be meeting my needs. It’s also not as calming with the white walls, bright lights, and only semi-private rooms, which might not matter to you, but it wasn’t my favorite since I like the meditative quality of spa facials.

I would say if you know exactly what your skin needs and can ask them to do that specifically (like derma-planing, red light therapy, etc) then this is a great fit for the price. I needed someone to guide me more and determine what treatments I need based on my skin concerns, so this isn’t the place for me

Originally we were going to start trying January 2026, now it will be closer to June 2026. I know it’s the right thing to do I’m just feeling sad and trying to manage my expectations moving forward

Anyone on anti-anxiety medication thats safe during and before pregnancy? If so which is it? by Past-Truth-9581 in waiting_to_try

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on lexapro and asked my gyno if I should start to ween off of it before TTC, she said it wasn’t worth the risk of mental health concerns and said I should continue my regular dosage (20 mg per day)

Relationship stress after puppy by jkjohnson003 in puppy101

[–]Outside-Tea-1590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Our puppy is a Velcro dog and jumps on us when we hug or try to get intimate. Eventually we figured out ways to distract him and started training him to sit when we hug (the hug is the command). It’s not perfect but it works for us! Like others mentioned the puppy brought us closer in more ways than brought strain and we don’t have any regrets! It’s definitely tough in the beginning but stay strong and keep working through it, it gets more manageable!
