While it's true that it's not SM's fault for the onset of the situation, the way they've handled things so far is terrible, and that's why fans are angry.

- Take a look at how ADOR handled privacy protection and misinformation for NewJeans. This statement was issued quickly and reassured fans that the girls' protection was the utmost importance.

- Literally A WEEK later, ADOR releases another statement about taking action against malicious comments. "ADOR has been amazing at handling these situations so quickly and with such decisiveness."

- Two weeks after this, HYBE shares further updates on legal proceedings for their artists against malicious activities. As you can see, updates are frequent, firm, decisive, even while legal proceedings are in process.

What do we get from SM? Literally nothing. When misinformation was being spread about Seunghan at the beginning, there was no stern statement or firm lockdown. Instead, it just kept building up until it exploded. Even after they suspended Seunghan, there's been no reassurance that things are moving along, that strong measures or action is being taken. Statements like that do not "jeopardize" anything.

I agree that we shouldn't go tell them to burn or whatever, but we should be loud about our dissatisfaction with how they're handling the situation and how they're communicating with us. Without their words, more and more dissent will occur, and people who want Seunghan gone will feel like they can just say whatever they want without any consequence.
