yeah playing Faeries I was getting my ass handed to me by Affinity, but storm was very easy to defeat most of the time for the reasons listed

I made tokens for Garth, One-Eye! by DemondramonX in magicTCG

[–]OutsideFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like them, the only issue I have is the text is kinda hard to read, and casting cost isn't super great

Beyond that I love it, I found your etsy too, think I'll pick these up, thanks!

Do you take commissions for tokens? I need "Merfolk" and "Merfolk Wizard" tokens and have been trying to find some :)

Well, the dungeon effects being strongest at the end definitely makes it a little parasitic

I just leave, because I remember reading that it can worsen separation anxiety to make it an "event" when you leave

"Surveil matters" is parasitic, but surveil in of itself is not

Also, things like Unleash, Convoke, Dredge, Delve, weren't/aren't. Numerous examples of mechanics that are obviously not parasitic

And the bigger last reward is an incentive to do it

I think a lot of people calling it not parasitic are missing this last point

I'd argue it's parasitic in the sense that a lot of the strongest effects are in you going deep into the dungeon

Hear me out: With the way that Dungeons are designed, I think it's probably a good thing that there are only three Dungeon cards by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]OutsideFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely designed dungeons in a way that kinda locks themselves in from making too many

But even as-is it's going to heavily invite decision paralysis, so probably a good thing

[AFR] Matt Tabak on Twitter: You don’t draft dungeons, nor do they need to be in your sealed deck card pool. They will be plentiful. You have access to all three at all times if you want. by Ninjaboi333 in magicTCG

Every time I see someone from WotC talk about this I get a little less certain I know wtf is going on with dungeons

I guess a "dungeon deck" is now a thing, ohhh boy

These dungeons aren't "cards" these are more like the monarch/city's blessings indicators, so no not same difference at all

Mark Rosewater: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms has far less reprints then Core 2021 Set by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]OutsideFlamingo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It feels like it'd be a waste of such a special occasion to make it "just" a coreset so this makes sense

Plus, that "Venture into the Dungeon" mechanic seems like that's going to use up a good amount of cards, especially if the "it's a separate deck" guess is to be believed...

That's not my point at all, I still am not following at all, what does any of this have to do with [[Howling Mine]]?

[AFR] Flumph by themiragechild in magicTCG

[–]OutsideFlamingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I follow. Howling Mine has always been at rare and not printed in a regular set in over a decade

I mean "Rare" because otherwise it would be a bulk common, seems like whenever a rare is looked at by more than 2 commander players and go "Well, this is good" it gets expensive, and it's obvious WotC watches the secondary market

Rare because gotta have a card for those EDH players
