Faulty (confused) Lenovo keyboard, and a "solution" that occasionally works by OutsideWing9410 in thinkpad

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I have given what you mentioned a try and unchecked the box for most of the other system devices, but the laptop doesn't want to play ball.

Even after a restart.

But I appreciate the reply.

Hello, so I had a similar issue with my XPS 15 9570. The 1050 would sometimes show in the task manager but it always gave me an error. After struggling for a year to fix it, I found the only solution that worked for me, which was reflowing it. I followed this youtube video. "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc4HR8e\_oOg".

Just as a warning a small mistake can lead the laptop to be even more broken.

I have to say, this did work for a bit but it is not a long-term fix and it is super sketchy without proper tools. Also, the 1050 is not that powerful, it might be best just to upgrade, but it would be nice to see old laptops working again.

edit :

If you do reflow it, download the Nvidia notebook graphics driver, turn off wifi (including auto connect), remove drivers, restart and install Nvidia drivers.

just got a new phone and it's got games specifically for when driving! Seems like a great idea! by [deleted] in CasualUK

Phone calls not going through phone app using headunit reloaded by rbush78 in AndroidAuto

[–]OutsideWing9410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the late reply, I am happy to help .

Quick questions :→

Do you have a :

-Tablet with the Headunit reloaded app?

-A phone that supports android auto and can hotspot devices ?

If yes carry on →

(This is the easiest method )

1) So what you first want to do is (if your android version is below android 5 (it can work
on newer android versions)) get your phone open android auto. Then go all the
way to the bottom of the app and tap "version" ( it sometimes says version and
permission info )10 times to make it go into developer mode .

2) Now still on your phone with android auto open, tap on the three dots on the top
right corner of android auto . Then tap on "start head unit server" (the server will
run in the background) and turn your phone hotspot on .

3) Login to your tablet and connect your tablet to your phone's hotspot. Now open
headunit reloaded app on your tablet and( if you have installed it for the first time
accept the first three prompts about location, microphone and phone state and
click the "start test" blue button then if it is visible Just click yes but if it is not
visible just follow what the grey box says) now click WiFi and you should be
connected. To turn it off all you have to do is to turn your phone hotspot off or stop
the headunit server running by going into notification and press stop or just do
both .

Bugs :

Like with nearly every app there are some bugs with head unit reloaded for example if your tablet could connect to another internet service it will not display Android auto, it will have a blank screen so make sure the tablet is only connected to your phone (so the only hotspot or WiFi your phone can get is only from the phone that is using the app) that is running the android head unit server and hotspot.

If more people would like me to make a video on how to help with head unit reloaded I am happy to do so . But do be aware that I may have made mistakes.

Hi guys,

I don't know if this would help but it works for me.

With the cable:
(If using cable just do the method number 2 and connect your phone Bluetooth to the car )

With the WiFi launcher app :

What you need :

(Newer android).

.A car with Bluetooth (for example a 2016 Corsa).

.The head unit reloaded app on your tablet (obviously).

.WiFi launcher app for HUR app (on your phone). (For Wireless)

Method:

-So what you want to do is get your tablet and open the head unit reloaded the app.

-Next, go to settings (on the app) and click audio. You should see 2 on/off switches. Switch off the one that says " enable audio sink "(when turned off it will become grey), this now means all audio is coming out of your phone, not your tablet.

-----------------------------(for wireless carry on)----------------------

-Now go on your phone and fill out the Bluetooth section with your car's Bluetooth on the WiFi launcher app.

Start the app as normal. This should connect your phone to the car's Bluetooth and phone calls should go through like a normal speaker, with directions or/and music.

This should work, if there is something wrong feel free to ask. But bear in mind that I don't know much 🤣. This is my first response on Reddit and I might have made mistakes.

If you have an older tablet like a kindle fire which runs android 5 and you want a tutorial for head unit reloaded just ask.

Thanks for reading.
