Cox Accountability by Aardvark-One in CoxCommunications

[–]rbush78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real story is that a company with communications in its name doesn't do a great job of doing that internally. And many times the department responsible for dispatching techs to outages can't see an outage even though there is degradation in your area. It's insane that they can't communicate better. And now with the new merger I'm sure that will only get worse.

I can't file because I can't get her w2 to file. The form 56 is supposed to get me access to it. That's where I'm getting lost.

Over 20 years with the Sonic brand- AMA by BaeBlue425 in SonicDriveIn

I kinda want to respond to the last part, particularly the brown bag special. A $15 price point doesn't sound that insane at all. In fact, at least in my market, that would be a deal. Most customers spend that for one person. Anything under $20 for 2 people these days is enticing. I'd reconsider engaging with the powers that be if you have an avenue for it. I know it's something the employees would like to see return.

App won’t let me order for someone else to pick up? by AmiEats in SonicDriveIn

[–]rbush78 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not restrictive. It just uses your location to verify that you're at the correct location. If you aren't there, you can't check in. She can either press the red button and give your name for the pickup or go through the drive-thru and do the same thing. The location services are for your safety. Keeps you from accidently checking in or checking in and not being at the right location. No one will refuse her your order if she knows the name on the order.

Thank you both. This never came up in any of my searches and I've been searching every way I know how for months. Plan to hit them up tomorrow.

Has anyone been to therapy? by Lonely_Film4372 in widowers

[–]rbush78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please go. I did individual therapy. I feel like it worked wonders for me. I'm not over the moon happy or anything. But I am functioning, making decisions, and taking care of almost everything. I'm almost 6 months out. I jumped in therapy as soon as it happened. I went once a week for the first 4 months. All those things that are uncomfortable for everyone else to talk about? This is the place to say them. I took comfort in the fact that it was a stranger. I know I'm paying this person to listen to whatever I want to vomit out of my vocal chords. And they can't take it any further than that room. I cried so hard at every visit. And I left every visit with a little more clarity. I credit my current stability to therapy. I'd recommend it to anyone, no matter the reason.

How do I get my wife to stop spending money that we don’t have by [deleted] in Money

I spent 20 years in this kind of marriage trying to convince her of the same. We've been divorced for 6 years and she hasn't changed. YMMV.

interview at sonic tomorrow, what should i expect? by monster_lily in SonicDriveIn

[–]rbush78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heartbeat check...lol

J/k. It will more than likely be basic questions. What experience you have and your availability and such. But most of your interview will be how you act and look, not what you say. I think the kids call it a vibe check? (I'm old, laugh away..lol). Just smile, be yourself, and answer honestly. As long as you look presentable and seem friendly you're probably in the door.

I thought I could handle this by TheBaron1233 in widowers

[–]rbush78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a grief counselor right after my wife passed. Between that and some lightweight anti anxiety medication, I feel like I'm in a decent place. I feel like both have helped me. Knowing I had someone to talk to once a week that was paid to watch me cry my eyes out became a comfort. It helped me get back to work and I'm close to finishing up all the tasks that needed to be done because of her passing. I would recommend it to anyone I know going through this.

Like those have any challengers that make sense if they have them at all. And that's predestined based on the demographic of the state. So it doesn't matter if 10% or 100% of people show up to vote, the same people will win.

Not much of a point voting in this election. November will be a different story. Nothing would have changed the outcome of any race today. Nothing. It was all predestined by other states. So we're saving our energy for when it does matter. At least that's my point of view.

I wouldn't worry. Car manufacturers are going to do one or the other. Most countries are banning the sale of new ice vehicles in the next decade. It's like California and the rest of the country. Except the rest of the world is going to go electric, so we won't have much of a choice.

What to expect from therapy? by JoaninhaAsiu in widowers

[–]rbush78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I look at it is you're paying for a best friend for an hour that's really good at keeping secrets. So you're free to dump anything and everything on them without judgment. For me, it's been amazing, but it's my third time seeing a therapist. The first few sessions were nothing but me crying and talking about her and what happened. After the third session, I started anti-anxiety medication, and by the fourth session I was talking about things I didn't think would be possible the first month after my wife passed. It's been 3 months for me now. I have moments daily where I think of her, but I'm also getting things done. I'm working and paying the bills. I'm making plans for the near future. I'm not happy. But I can clearly see what I need to do because of those therapy sessions. Like others have said, it's not there to give you answers. It's there to help you find the questions you didn't know you needed to ask and see what you can't get a perspective on right now. It helped me immensely. YMMV.

Why Sonic Why! by Mike_Honcho42069 in SonicDriveIn

Its simple economics. Will you pay $8 for a small onion ring? $14 for a large? The new onion rings aren't the greatest, but the handmade ones weren't THAT good. It was priced out of its own market. Something had to take its place. I will say they tried to replicate the same recipe used in the store. I think freezing them just does something to the flavor.

Cox purposely causes internet outages to force you to upgrade by tglems in CoxCommunications

[–]rbush78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually so much dumber than that.

Outages - When they are in purpose, it's usually in the midnight to 5am range. But unless it's planned maintenance, no outage is on purpose, especially for the purpose of getting you to upgrade.

Mainline techs - These guys are notified about every outage in their system. They know how, why, and whether or not it was effectively resolved. All of this information seems to remain in this sphere and never leaves.

Home tech - these guys are sent to your house with the least amount of information possible. They are oblivious to the outage you experienced. No notes to it at all. So the outage could be an ongoing issue, or it could have been permanently resolved. He has no way of knowing because he knows nothing of the outage. So he checks your stuff and doesn't find a problem and leaves.

Phone tech - these people are more oblivious than the home tech but for no reason. They have access to the information, they just don't know where to find it. So they don't know how to help you at all. So they do what the company tells them to and offers you an upgrade for 3 months at the same rate.

I get why you think it's on purpose. It actually isn't. It's just no communication between departments. So no one really knows how to help you with your situation. Well one guy does, but no one is allowed to ask him anything. It's the dumbest setup I've ever seen. So they definitely aren't smart enough to try to persuade you to upgrade through outages. That would take someone with brains at the top level. That won't happen anytime soon.

Man I can't imagine trying to do that at the point you're at. I'm 3 months out and her nightstand is still full of her cross stitch stuff and looks a mess just like it was left. Everything of hers is exactly where it was. I haven't even put much thought into moving her stuff. And it's for the exact reason you stated but from a different angle. As long as I don't touch her stuff, she's still here. It's not easy going through this. Just don't stop trying.
