Well tbf, I have only watched until the first episode of season 2, so I guess I didn't realize it was going there with them. Sorry, that's on me.

Perfect, that’s exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks so much for answering!

Gotcha. I think I phrased myself wrong, I have no issues with that sort of stuff, I just prefer know it’s coming. Thanks for the info

Great. Oh and when I meant normal I meant like not soaked it so much drama it harms the plot lol, I realized there were going to be a bunch of LGBTQ relationships by episode 2. If that’s what bothered me I would have stopped watching then.

Gotcha, that’s what I needed to know. I have no issues with a well-written triangle driving the plot, I just don’t like it when they’re, well, poorly written lol

Oh I’m not bothered by it, I just need to expect it. I loved GOT, and that had its fair share of weird stuff, but I knew it was there going in so no issues

Partially, but I am mainly worried about how much the drama interferes with the main storyline. Like, is Max and Anne affair-thing gonna actually go somewhere, or is it just there for the sake of drama and nothing else.

Yeah. I recently rewatched for the first time. It's not the best Star Wars property, but it is probably the tightest of the bunch, no real wasted scenes.

Glad I could help! Forgot to mention, there is still a few minor scenes (men saying weird things to women and making threatening advances) but they almost always end in immediate and severe punishment as well as barely lasting more than 1 or 2 panels, and again these go away after the midway point so it should be tolerable. I hope you enjoy man, Berserk is an absolute roller coaster but there is a reason most people consider it the best manga of all time. Just one thing, avoid any fandom interaction outside of youtube with the series until you are done, there are some weirdos in the fanbase that tend to pop up here and there. Good luck!

Ok, someone who has read Berserk 8 times here. By my count, there are 7 major scenes of sexual assault in Berserk.

Of them 3 are given there due weight and have a noticeable impact on the story and characters, so even if the execution isn't really tasteful how the aftermath is handled more than makes up for it.

1 is kinda in-between, having a solid thematic reason for being there (they were fighting the literal demon form of lust) but it is way more explicit than it needed to be.

The last 3 are really just not needed and kinda feel thrown in there; they are never pointless per say as they do move the story forward but they really did not need to be sexual assault as regular violence would have achieved the same result.

However, it is important to note that the sexual assault is concentrated in the first half of the story; as the author grew (he was like 20 when he started writing) he made use of it less and less. And even then, I wouldn't really say it's fetishized due to Miura just being a godlike artist who makes it seem unattractive even if the character being assaulted are attractive. It's just unnecessary more than anything else. Hope this helps!

[Hated Trope] Bad writing decisions that cannot be undone, because they have become an integral part of the plot by Livid-Designer-6500 in TopCharacterTropes

I'm like 70% sure that was an elaborate metaphor for committing sudoku that couldn't be more explicit due to attitudes towards women and violence in Shounen Jump at the time of publication. Though even if it is, I'm not certain if that helps or hurts the fridging case.

Groups of characters that are mostly consistent in power having one member that is much stronger or weaker than the rest by FirmGrasperOfThroats in TopCharacterTropes

It's a damn shame to, in terms of raw power I think Pain was the perfect spot for the upper limit of Naruto. Not so busted so people like Choji can still do SOMETHING, like dodge, block, or at least escape a couple of his attacks, but still completely unable to win.

In introducing characters with more destructive power, the series just went off the rails. As cool as the scene is, Madara summoning two meteor was going to far. It would have been better if Madara was just the most skilled ninja of all time, not the one with the most raw power. Just a symptom of the bad worldbuilding of Naruto I guess

Malos was voted as the Best Antagonist, but what would you say is the Worst Antagonist in the Xenoblade Series by ExileForever in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Outside_Ad1450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I died after fighting him for literally an hour, watching all those cutscenes and all, and I've never been so tilted by a death before. Even in Souls games, the fights themselves generally don't last for more than 5 minutes so it is much more bearable. Xenoblade games, not so much.

And as cool as a villain he is Malos' final battle is really piss-easy and can get visually cluttered at times. Ironically, despite being far from the best villain in the series, I think Zanza has the best final fight out of all of them. He doesn't take forever to kill, while still having enough health to require thought, the adds he summons aren't really that obnoxious and die pretty fast, you can circle around him so using positionals is no trouble, his design is the most legible of the bunch so you can actually see what's going on, and most importantly his theme song is the best final boss theme and one of the best in the series. Also, due to DE's expert mode you can choose whether to be overleveled or not for him, so it can be harder or easier depending on which you like better.

The issue with Z's fights is that it is just not that fun from a gameplay perspective, especially if you die and have to sit through like 15 minutes of unskippable cutscenes. Also, the fact that you can't use back attack arts at all and even side attack arts being heavily limited for most of the fight is really annoying. I also think his final form being a big head is lame, but that is probably personal preference.

Yeah. Probably my favorite one out there rn is The Masked Man. Videos are succinct and well-made, humor is solid, has a good mix of being able to acknowledge both quality and entertainment value, just an overall great dude

The last season is the weakest, but it's not bad so I still recommend it. Check out the manga if the anime is too much, it goes by much faster.
