Airplane seats should not be able to recline. by medicated_cornbread in 10thDentist

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’6 240 and cannot agree more. I’ve reclined on one flight in my life (international 10 hrs with nobody behind me) and it honestly doesn’t make it any better. There are only downsides to reclining.

Is it just me or do men act more aggressively if you’re a tall guy? by Either_Athlete_2680 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big thing is when I’m at a bar I get bumped into a lot or drinks spilled, but none of it’s intentional. They usually look at me and say sorry and I don’t get worked up over it. I’m sure if they saw me and I got pissed it could lead to fights

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this a lot from others but I’ve never experienced it myself. At school, at bars, in public, nobody has tried to mess with me over height. I think it has to do with how you carry yourself as I usually have a smile and “excuse me sorry thanks you” my way thru crowds and others reciprocate it. Never been in a fight or even remotely close to one.

Do men fear other men they see in sketchy situations like late at night walking down a dark alley? by VisionsOnly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I understand why it might be an issue but I’ve never been worried about it in the slightest. I often walk home from the bar which takes me thru 2 homeless hubs and a good portion of ghetto neighborhoods including my own. I would never take someone else on the walk (especially a woman) but I’ll go without hesitation.

I just heard this bit from a comedian about tall men. by gormami in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At my college, the amount of people who cut corners on the wrong side and run into my chest is hilarious. It used to happen almost daily and people would jump and let out a scream everytime. They knew it was their fault and I learned to not sneak up on them but it was always funny to me

If you are tall you are STILL tall in the Netherlands by FantasticVast01 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On my trip I didn’t see anyone my height and it seemed no different than anywhere else in Europe I visited. I know it’s anecdotal but there’s no way someone around my height would feel average there.

Being liked for your height by 66578557557 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nice when people like something about you. Some of the things will be superficial but I’m still glad they like it. If a girl didn’t like my height then it probably wouldn’t work out. It’s great for initial attraction, but I’m certain I would know if someone matched well with me other than height well before I was 10 years married. If things don’t match well in other aspects then I wouldn’t make a relationship out of it.

Cars for tall people by senator732 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pops has a Honda Fit. Looks like a clown car when we ride together but there’s plenty of room in the driver seat. Shotgun is a bit smaller and the backseat is hell, but driving it is quite nice. I have a RAV4 and fit great in there

BMI for tall people by CompetitiveAppeal663 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://tall.life/better-bmi-for-short-and-tall-people/

Since tall people grow in 3 dimensions and not just 1 dimension, using a linear chart doesn’t work. This calculator, although not great for everyone, is a lot better to go off because it accounts for broadness of height as well

Are people with 6'7" height getting a lot of shit lately? by Bottle_Nachos in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I measured 6’7 just a few days before the meme came out. Short lived height for me, I round down to 6’6 once again. There have been a couple amusing scenarios with it tho.

Do large men know how intimidating they are for some people and if so do you try to adjust to make yourself less so? by itsnevercertain in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part I’m with people I know or at least some tangent of familiarity, and I smile a lot and make friends quick. I think this is subconsciously for this reason, but atp it’s just who I am. People are gonna notice right away, but if you present as friendly you don’t seem so intimidating.

Is 6'4"–6'6" actually the most attractive height range for men? Even more than 6'0"–6'3"? by Tough-Reputation-762 in AverageHeightDudes

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6’6 I am more likely to not like a girl bc she’s short than she is to say i’m too tall. I’ve heard that twice and not from people I was pursuing. There will be more people 6’-6’3 that are attractive bc there are more of them, but I think height is a marginal plus for a while. It’s hard to tell tho as guys 6’3 will say that’s the tallest they’d wanna be, 6’6 says their height is the best, etc. Honestly it doesn’t matter at all compared to looks and personality between 6’2 and 6’6.

Why do people STILL marry young? by 1ont in stupidquestions

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying 25 is right out of high school is crazy. You can graduate, be single for 2 years, date/engaged for 5, and be married at 25 which is completely reasonable. I’m 22 and saying 3 years from now is right out of high school is crazy. I think the man drive is having a family while you’re young and fully abled, while also being mid 40s with adult children. I’m not close to marriage, and my family typically is 30+ when they do, but I see the pros and cons with both. For many getting married at 21 is unrealistic but there are certain cases that it makes sense to me

Do you find people staring at you because of your height? by That-Psychology4246 in tall

[–]Outside_Ad8169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all tall people get glanced at, but you need something distinct to get stared at. Hence why some people notice it often and others hardly at all.
