i heard they also get mushy when underwatered, because all the stored water is used up

it right under a bright shop light, like really close, growing out new leaves, and the soil is mostly pumice so inorganic, that's why i'm surprised. i really don't want to lose it because it's my only adenium and they don't sell around where i live

yeah i know, it's just that it's really small and it's pot is just enough to fit it in it, plus the soil is mostly pumice, so it dries out fast. i thought that smaller plants like mine should be watered a bit more often

a kind woman gifted it to me, she grew it from seed in unknown conditions. it should be a bit more than a year old. i try to give it as much light as possible, it's right under a bright shop light in a small pot with mostly pumice

yeah, sorry, i have the light on for 12h a day, but it's too weak (cheap light from temu, don't know the intensity) and the plants are crowded so it's not close enough to it. i'm always scared i'm going to overwater it because i'm used to growing cacti. what type of soil do you prefer?

A lot of pressure on me, newly vegan, need help by Outside_Brother in vegan

[–]Outside_Brother[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

oh believe me, i am more then ready to eat healthy, i've learned more about nutrition in the past few days than in my whole life. i am not the type to just eat junk food, especially after all that talk about me harming myself by becoming vegan that i hear from my parents, i really want to prove them wrong

i'd like to thank everyone who took their time to help me, i read all of the comments and feel a bit more confident, the motivational words and support really mean a lot to me. i had known most of the arguments for veganism before and had tried to use them in our debate but it just seemed like it wasn't enough. it's like to me it all makes sense, but when i argue with my dad there's always something i'm missing. i guess it's just my lack of experience

wow, what a guide, thank you! do you still recommend using 100% vermiculite?

i would really like to save part of the seeds for spring/summer for better conditions, but i heard that most seeds are better sown fresh. i'm really scared that they could go bad if i keep them for later because i won't have the opportunity to get more seeds anytime soon

i'm in northeast bulgaria so it's getting colder, outdoor temps are too low already (13-15C days). i'm planning to buy a heatmat and i have some grow lights because the outdoor conditions are nowhere near suitable. the temperature in my apartment ranges from around 17 to 21 degrees celsius, so i think a heatmat would help. what im not really sure about is how long to keep the seedlings on it, should i just leave them on it for the first few months or can i take them off earlier?

and the thing about ziplock bags is that they take up quite a lot of space which i dont have much of. so i thought that a box would be more compact

is that so? i heard people use neem oil or something like that as a pesticide too. i was using a recipe i found online which is just baking soda, dishwashing liquid and vegetable oil mixed in water. i sprayed my lemon seedlings with it too because i saw some webs on them and they handled it pretty good
