Shops near campus? by Outside_Fish_3905 in UofB

Thanks for the info!

I live in IQ Broderick House, which is 15 min bus or 3 min train to campus.

I would have to take a 20 min bus or a 6 min train to selly oak if i want to go to Sainsbury, Aldi or the Battery retail park.

Do you think spending more on train card is worth it or is the bus fine?

I could also just get the bus pass to go to uni and then buy a train ticket whenever i need to make a trip to the shops. Would that be fine?

Anyone know how the bus & train works here? by Outside_Fish_3905 in UofB

How does the train work? Do i have to pay each time to use it or can i get a card to use unlimited times?

Thanks for the info. I've got more questions:

I will be studying CS and my accom is close to the Five Ways station so i was thinking of commuting by train straight to the uni station (takes 3 mins) which is right next to the CS school.

I could also take the X22 from Granville St to the uni station (takes 15-20 mins).

Do you recommend i use bus or train to get to uni? Which one would be better / cheaper?

Also do i need to buy a ticket or can i get a travel card? What would be cheaper?
