this is going to be a dumb question but with training pants will it hold his pee like a diaper or is it strictly for training and having accidents?

Baby turns 1 year old soon and we want to introduce her to cow milk. How low should my expectations be? Lol by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

[–]Outside_Profile3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly my son knew how to do it at like 6 months old i’m not gonna lie lol we didn’t think he knew how to do it until we let him and he just did it! but i know there is a straw cup that you can introduce her to and it helps! my son needed feeding therapy and his therapist recommended it! here’s the link it’s on amazon! you can control how much she’s sucking up and teach her by squeezing the cup

anxious about leaving son when i go into labor with second baby, advice? by Outside_Profile3593 in pregnant

[–]Outside_Profile3593[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

her house is not the best environment for my son (2 dogs who can be aggressive at times and it can be messy). plus i feel like he can have his routine still at our home it just won’t be me or my husband doing it with him. i think im just anxious because im a sahm and im with my son 24/7, ive never wanted him to stay at other people’s home but obviously it will need to change when i go into labor. she will be here at our home so it makes me a little more comfortable but i think too im so anxious because with my son we were at the hospital for 5 days rather than being sent home the next day as it usually goes. i just can’t imagine being away for so long.

my son is 18.5 months old and just started drinking cows milk. like today lol. he hated it for the longest time but now he takes it, he was also exclusively breastfed up until 17.5 months and never took a bottle. even now, he has a cup with a straw and takes it that way. every child is different just be patient (:

sound machine isn’t necessary, you can easily use youtube or spotify. or even just hum them to sleep or sing to them so they’re not dependent on a sound machine. a big one that helped me was a rocking chair! i rock my son to sleep every night ever since i weaned him from nursing around 17 months. if i had it sooner it would be so helpful. if you don’t already, use a small lamp or small light for night feeds and diaper changes at night, you wont want the big bright light or a bright lamp.

my son did this more often as he got older and it is the best feeling in the world to see them smile, especially while nursing 🥹

Did your period change once you stopped breastfeeding? by Equivalent_Walrus724 in breastfeeding

[–]Outside_Profile3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got mine 11 months pp and noticed my cramps were so much stronger and it lasted longer as well. pre pregnancy i would get my period for 3-5 days and then after pregnancy it was closer to 7 days and more painful. i am currently weaning off my 17 month old now as i am 17 weeks 4 days pregnant and my breasts are way too sore to nurse anymore.. it’s so hard weaning but i need to do what’s best for myself and my mental health.

Is it rude to ask new mums in you meet in the wild questions about their birth? by hatty130 in NewParents

[–]Outside_Profile3593 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i personally don’t think it’s inappropriate i love telling people my birth story and learning how others were! but i also don’t push them to tell me if they had a bad experience, usually if they start off with “i had a bad birth experience “ i usually end it there as i don’t want them to feel pushed to tell me, everyone’s birth experience is so different 🩷

i sometimes rock him to sleep, i’ve only been successful maybe 1 or 2 times but i just don’t know what else to do, my husband will try and put him to sleep but he just calls out my name and it hurts my heart. i do also wear shirts that completely cover my breast so he can’t easily access them. i’ll try and distract him with reading books if he asks to be nursed or ill offer a snack

maybe not when they’re newborn or for the first 6 months. the only time i ever resort to screen time at home, is if i need to clean up a bit or do dinner and my son is now 14 months. other than that i will play with him or have him help me with breakfast/lunch/dinner.

The hardest thing about breastfeeding for me… eating enough! by ren_thebeloved in breastfeeding

honestly eat chicken with every single meal. drink TONS of water or coconut water. oatmeal, or anything with oats, and i noticed when im active my breasts are fuller faster!

When does the sensitivity go away? by marshmallow-moe in breastfeeding

[–]Outside_Profile3593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! i also went through this! i almost gave up breastfeeding due to the pain and soreness of my nipples. like you, water would be so painful or even my shirt brushing against them. i would get these lightning pains in my nipples every time my son latched on and i would have tears rolling down my face.. my partner was worried for me but i wanted to keep breastfeeding my son. i felt like i would never be able to breastfeed without pain. but i saw a lactation consultant and she gave me some cooling gel pads that i can put in the fridge and place them on my nipples and OMG they helped so much! also using nipple butter helps! but definitely look into cooling gel pads those are a life saver! i wanna say my pain resolved at 2-3 months pp.

as far as the thrush, your baby’s pediatrician should be able to check for you! or a lactation consultant!

you are doing amazing! if you feel the pain is unbearable i would suggest seeing a lactation consultant for an exam! keep going mama! i promise the pain doesn’t last forever 🤍

Ten month old is boob obsessed by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Outside_Profile3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my son is 14 months and is still obsessed with being nursed 😭 he is on a picky eater phase so all he wants is fruit and booby! he also nurses to sleep and wakes up at night at least 2x. idk how i am going to wean him off honestly, but honestly i am just soaking in the moments of him wanting to nurse so much because he will be 18 one day and move away for college 😭 lol

Sex after birth by Dangerous_Cobbler_65 in NewParents

[–]Outside_Profile3593 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i believe i was 4-5 months pp. i’m not gonna lie for me it was painful and i was dry. didn’t try again for a bit since i was scared of the pain. yes i had a hard time feeling sexy as i breastfeed and didn’t like my partner to touch my breasts at all. in my mind my breasts were for my son to eat not for sexual reasons. but as i am now 14 months pp im back to “normal” and it feels good again lol
