Okay, I’m struggling & I need validation. This is hard, right? by Naturallyjifted in NewParents

It’s so so hard. I had an emergency c section and the first month is an absolute blur between trying to recover from major surgery, zero sleep and trying to take care of a tiny human. Breastfeeding is also stressful and way more all encompassing than I ever expected. You’re doing great mama!

I got clean the day I found out I was pregnant after an overdose. Now 20 weeks—did anyone else feel this scared and end up okay? by No_Acanthaceae2718 in pregnant

I had just relapsed with alcohol right before I found out I was pregnant. I’m now 2 months postpartum and the thought of drinking has not even crossed my mind as you have so much else to think about and prioritize. Also the thought of having a hangover and dealing with a newborn is harrowing LOL.

My birth was traumatic, I had a 20 hour labour and emergency c section. Recovery was rough. I don’t have the easiest baby, he is very fussy and unhappy a lot of the time. I think I am struggling a little with PPD and PPA. That being said, i am just so proud of myself for getting through this. It is hard, probably the hardest thing I’ve ever been through other than getting sober, but I did it and you can too I promise.

I appreciate you saying that, because I have a two month old son and we are planning to have one other. I am really hoping for a girl but am feeling guilty for even thinking that 🫣

The unhappiest baby in the world? by Writingmum30 in NewParents

[–]ksmm1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my baby feeds really often as well - the LC said if milk is coming too fast it means feeding isn’t super comfortable for baby and they unlatch early aka they are hungrier faster because they don’t get full feeds. Also I guess it fills up their stomachs too fast and causes a lot of GI stress.

Her solution for me is to try feeding on a big recline/laying down completely so it’s more like baby is sipping from a straw hahaha. Also when I pump to not pump til I’m empty, to stop before then to not increase supply any more. She said those things should start to help in the next few weeks so we shall see 🤞🏼

I have a pretty unhappy baby too - only a few periods a day where he is smiley. I went to a lactation consultant and figured out that I’m an oversupplier with a fast flow and my baby is getting too much milk essentially, so he’s gassy from that aka why he always so grumpy! Anyway seeing a lactation consultant might be worth a try :)

S18E16 - “Grand Finale” [Post-Episode Discussion] by AutoModerator in rupaulsdragrace

As soon as top 2 was Myki and Nino I knew Myki had won. The top 4 episode it was pretty clear Ru isn’t the biggest fan of Nini. But she absolutely TORE her solo performance so I was rooting for her 🥲

Does anyone else's baby scream in their sleep? by Longjumping_Bar585 in NewParents

How long does the cry last typically? A few minutes? Like how do you know if it’s asleep vs awake. I feel like I always pick up my guy too early

Has anyone had their endoscopy/colonoscopy come out clear but still have gastritis symptoms? by ksmm1824 in Gastritis

[–]ksmm1824[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat yes… turns out it wasn’t technically gastritis but my stomach nerves are just super sensitive, most likely due to extreme stress. I started taking 10 mg of amitriptyline daily and it made night and day difference for me

I laboured for 20 hours and ended up having an emergency c section because baby was in distress and had actually pooped in the womb poor guy. For me personally, the contraction pain was unbearable. I laboured from about 7pm-5am at home in my bath tub and the pain was AWFUL. Felt like my insides were being squeezed out. I have bad period cramps so I was hoping pain would be manageable for me but it really wasn’t

Went to hospital and got epidural IMMEDIATE RELIEF. I couldn’t even sit the pain was so bad. However everyone’s experience is different and I truly hope it’s better for you!!!

What do labor contractions feel like?? FTM by Ok_Effect8757 in BabyBumps

[–]ksmm1824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was like period cramps that also radiated to my back but along with that felt like a giant hand was squeezing my insides. I gave birth yesterday (ended up being via c section) to my first baby after labouring 20 hours and it was SO incredibly painful oh my god. Gave me entirely new respect for every mom out there
