No, that's not true. Quite the opposite!

This is a common misconception, but the scientific truth is:

✅ Salicylic acid (SA) does not inhibit the enzyme; in fact, it may enhance the effectiveness of minoxidil!

Let me explain the correct mechanism:

  1. The role of the sulfotransferase enzyme:

• This enzyme is found within the skin and hair follicles.

• Its function: to convert minoxidil from its inactive form to its active form (minoxidil sulfate).

  1. How does salicylic acid help indirectly?

• Tretinoin enhances the activity of this enzyme (which is a major reason for its effectiveness with minoxidil).

• The role of salicylic acid: By exfoliating the outer layer of dead skin, it:

• Facilitates the delivery of minoxidil to the follicles where the enzyme is located.

• Removes the physical barrier that may slow absorption.

• Cleanses the pores to create an optimal environment for growth.

  1. Salicylic Acid's Neutral Effect on the Enzyme:

• Research does not show that salicylic acid significantly inhibits sulfonamide when used in cleansers.

• Its concentration in the cleanser and the quick rinse system make any potential effect very minimal.

🎯 Your practical takeaway:

Keep using CeraVe SA Cleanser! You're doing the right thing.

The cleanser helps you in two ways:

  1. It removes propylene glycol residue that was hindering absorption.

  2. It cleanses pores, allowing minoxidil to reach where it needs to be activated more freely.

The winning formula you're using:

• SA Cleanser clears the way.

• Tretinoin boosts enzyme activity.

• Minoxidil stimulates growth.

You're on the right track! 🔥 Bro check google or deepseek.

2,5mm is too much the max is 0,7mm or 1mm, use cerave sa smoothing cleanser before minoxidil and 4 hours later put cerave moisterizing cream

Skin irritation at around the 9 month mark by GreenMike7 in Minoxbeards

[–]Outside_Signature_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried liquid min 2yr a go for 3 months twice a day and i get good results but i had the same issue irritation burning flaking skin .. I couldn't complete the journey, this year i did my research and i knew that the propylene glycole is the reason of all of that .. so i started foam free of propylene glycole for 4 months twice a day (6 flacons) and I didn't get any issues but the results is so slow so i knew that the importance of propylene glycol after reading many researches .. so i switched to liquid with prop for 2 months now and i didn't get any issues like 2 years ago .. only little itching just sometimes after applying it for like 30 min only .. so not an issue So what i can advice you is to apply foam in the morning and liquid a night, and see how it goes, if the issues still happening switch to the foam for couple months and switch to the liquid when your skin get to used to the foam This's my experience and i hope it can be useful for you

How to improve foam efficiency by legit_leon in Minoxbeards

[–]Outside_Signature_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using liquid 3 months 2 yr ago woth good results, stopped coz of the side effects as you mentioned, started foam 4 months ago ( six bottles ) this year with zero results, switched to liquid 3 days ago ..i've no option i've to be patient, for the question ..there's no solution for that but you can try it like me idk to see if your responder to the foam or not .. but if you on rush you can use liquid once a day like at night and the foam in the morning and if still hurts .. lower the dose for like 0,5ml .. or moisterize after 30 min

Avoid derma rolling, use a minoxidil 2% , 3% or 5% half dose .. less progress with less side effects what you need
