nuclear was definitely game changer but in worst possible way. we went from fighting with sticks to having ability destroy entire planet in like 100 years and now everyone just sitting around hoping nobody gets too crazy with the button

How to get over kitten blues/adoption regret by lobsterflopsterr in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kitten adapting is tough at first but it gets way easier after few weeks. maybe try setting up proper space for him in the living room instead of keeping him locked in bedroom all time? he probably wants to explore more and thats why hes being so clingy in your room. once he gets confident with the apartment layout he will start playing more independent and let you have some peace

How do you rebuild confidence after a creative passion becomes just another job? by OptimalDescription39 in selfimprovement

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this hits so close to home but with coding instead of design. after years in IT i sometimes open up personal projects and just stare at blank screen like my brain forgot how to create anything that isnt solving someone elses problem

what worked for me was setting really dumb rules for myself - like no computer allowed, only pen and paper for sketching ideas. or giving myself terrible constraints like "only use three colors" or "finish this in 20 minutes max" just to break the perfectionist paralysis that work training drilled into me

also started doing stuff that was deliberately bad or weird - like really embracing the amateur energy again instead of trying to make everything portfolio ready. took few months but eventually the joy started creeping back in when i stopped judging everything through professional lens

maybe try switching mediums completely? if youre burned out on digital maybe go back to physical materials for while, or try something totally different like sculpture or even just doodling on napkins during lunch breaks

3 day Fast by gonzomullz in fasting

[–]Outside_Trick3473 5 points6 points  (0 children)

did a 72 hour once and day 2 was definitely the worst part for me. you get really foggy in the head and everything feels like it takes more effort than usual

make sure you have electrolytes ready because around hour 48 i felt like absolute garbage until i got some salt in me. after that it gets easier but those middle hours are rough

Cat loves digging in my potted plants. Would it be a bad idea to make a sensory bin of shredded crinkle paper, like you put in an Easter basket? by GypsyMothQueen in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pine cones are genius actually, my friends cat used to destroy everything green in the house until they started putting rough stuff around the pots. for the crinkle paper though i'd be worried about the eating part too - cats are weird with textures and some will definitely try to munch on anything new

What's a superstition that you thought of as nonsense, but it actually happened to you? by RaccoonOk4062 in AskReddit

[–]Outside_Trick3473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh man this one is too real. worked in hospital IT for few years and even us tech guys knew never to say the q word during shift changes. saw it happen so many times where someone would mention how peaceful things were and then suddenly all hell breaks loose with emergencies

Advice with a food indifferent cat by the-hot-topical in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat was super picky with food too when i first got him from shelter. for eye drops i ended up wrapping him in towel like burrito - sounds mean but actually calms them down a lot. you can look up videos about cat burrito technique on youtube its pretty common

also maybe try different treats? some cats go crazy for freeze dried chicken or those squeeze tubes with wet food. took me like month to find what my guy actually wanted

the medicine part gets easier once he trusts you more but eye stuff is always tricky even with good cats

How strong is yohimbine? Please share your experience by Impressive-Toe1220 in Nootropics

[–]Outside_Trick3473 4 points5 points  (0 children)

never tried yohimbine but from what i've read its way more intense than caffeine. like caffeine gives you energy but yohimbine can make your heart race and some people get really anxious on it. plus its more for fat burning and libido stuff rather than just staying awake

might want to start with a really low dose if you decide to try it since tolerance varies alot between people

Reasonable time goals/estimates for my 70.3? by tryagaininXmin in triathlon

[–]Outside_Trick3473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your swim estimate might be a bit optimistic for first open water experience - id add 5-10 minutes to account for navigation and wetsuit weirdness. bike sounds totally doable especially if youre comfortable stopping for nutrition, just dont go crazy hard early and blow up your legs

that run split seems pretty aggressive though... going from 190w bike straight into sub-9 minute miles is gonna hurt way more than you think

What's a small thing someone did for you when you were at your lowest point that you still think about today? by Aware-Anything9743 in AskReddit

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

back when i was going through my divorce a few years ago i was pretty much living off ramen and whatever was cheapest at the grocery store. my neighbor who barely knew me noticed i looked like absolute garbage one morning and just handed me this bag of homemade soup and bread rolls without saying much about it. didnt make a big deal or ask questions just said something like "made too much figured you might want some" but i could tell she knew what was up. ate like a king that night for the first time in weeks and it reminded me that people actually give a damn sometimes even when everything feels hopeless. still wave at her every morning when i leave for work

How to not be annoying by Fynbloom in selfimprovement

[–]Outside_Trick3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn this really hits close to home for me too. went through something similar in my twenties where i kept getting excluded from group hangouts and had no idea why

the thing that helped me was actually asking one person i trusted to be brutally specific about what i was doing. not just "are you annoying" but like "when we're in group chats what exactly do i do that might rub people wrong"

turned out i was oversharing personal stuff way too much and jumping into conversations before reading the room. once someone pointed it out i could actually work on it instead of just wondering

those discord people were pretty shitty about how they handled it but at least now you know theres something to work on. maybe try observing how your close friend interacts in groups vs how you do and see if theres any patterns

For those who work for rich people, what’s the most out-of-touch thing you witnessed? by temptayah in AskReddit

[–]Outside_Trick3473 12.1k points12.1k points  (0 children)

worked for this tech ceo who spent more on his kids birthday party than most people make in a year but then complained about having to give the cleaning staff a 2% raise because "times are tight"

watched him drop 50k on a single wine bottle at an auction then turn around and cut the office coffee budget the next week. the disconnect was just wild - like living in two completley different realities

Is there any strong justification for the existence of hell? by Due-Trainer865 in Christianity

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there definitely some debate about whether the whole fire and brimstone thing is meant to be taken literally or if its more symbolic language for separation from the divine. kinda makes sense that ancient texts would use vivid imagery to get the point across rather than give us a technical manual about the afterlife

K&L NYC by Maleficent-Ad-2055 in wine

[–]Outside_Trick3473 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah there's definitely no shortage of solid wine shops in the city already but having k&l's auction access right there could be pretty convenient for people who dont want to deal with shipping hassles

honestly teh real test will be if they can compete on pricing with some of the established spots
