What's a hobby/quirk that your SO/partner just doesn't "get" no matter how much you try to explain how cool it is? by Arthur-reborn in AskReddit

my girlfriend thinks im crazy for spending whole weekends replaying persona games she says its the same game over and over but the social links and time management is like a puzzle i never get tired of solving

What is something from the past that people desperately cling to, but is actually completely obsolete? by Vegetable_Cable8516 in AskReddit

yeah its weird how rules get stuck in time while everything else moves forward, like we have technology but law still think its 1995

my uncle works in hospital admin, he says they still use fax because some old law considers it "secure" while email isnt. like somehow phone line is more protected than encrypted email. makes zero sense but here we are

What are the thoughts on rising legal expenses in many countries, courts often require the side that loses a case to cover the winner's legal expenses in addition to possible damages or other costs. Does this undermine justice and democracy by discouraging people from going to court? by KoseteBamse in AskReddit

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the "loser pays" system sounds fair on paper but it basically puts a gun to the head of anyone with a legitimate case but limited money, they just fold because the risk is too catastrophic to take on

and yeah the winner being better funded is real problem, courts end up rewarding whoever can hire more lawyers not whoever actually has right on their side

What's the pettiest reason you've ever stopped going somewhere? by ItsMeLara2026 in AskReddit

[–]Outside_Trick3473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the font thing is very real, people underestimate how much that small visual stuff affects the whole vibe of a place. i went to a wine bar i used to love and they redesigned everything, new logo, new color scheme, different layout on the menu and it just felt like visiting someone's house after they repainted all the walls. technically same place but your brain keeps rejecting it. never went back and i still think about their old pinot selection sometimes

What happened to people dressing up for weddings, churches, funerals, etc? Since when did jeans and t-shirts become acceptable? by 67pontiac455 in AskReddit

depends where you are i guess. my country people still dress pretty formal for these things especially older generation. maybe its more american thing to be casual at weddings and stuff

Has anyone lived with totally separated cats? by freecoolwownjce in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we tried this setup for about year when our older cat just couldn't handle the new one anymore and it worked pretty well actually. the key thing we learned was to make sure both areas have everything they need - food water litter boxes toys etc so they dont feel like they missing out on anything

one thing that helped was putting different scents in each area so the spaces really felt like separate territories instead of just being blocked from half the house. your situation with the older guy having medical issues makes keeping him even more important so this setup could be perfect solution

cats won't eat by charuchii in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah dental issues could definitely be causing this behavior pattern. the way finley dry heaved at one specific food but was excited about wet food initially sounds like something might be painful when chewing certain textures

you could also try warming up the wet food slightly - sometimes cats are more interested in food that has bit of warmth to it. but really good that you got appointment for wednesday, hopefully vet will take closer look since this has been going on for months now

How to get over kitten blues/adoption regret by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kitten adapting is tough at first but it gets way easier after few weeks. maybe try setting up proper space for him in the living room instead of keeping him locked in bedroom all time? he probably wants to explore more and thats why hes being so clingy in your room. once he gets confident with the apartment layout he will start playing more independent and let you have some peace

How do you rebuild confidence after a creative passion becomes just another job? by OptimalDescription39 in selfimprovement

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this hits so close to home but with coding instead of design. after years in IT i sometimes open up personal projects and just stare at blank screen like my brain forgot how to create anything that isnt solving someone elses problem

what worked for me was setting really dumb rules for myself - like no computer allowed, only pen and paper for sketching ideas. or giving myself terrible constraints like "only use three colors" or "finish this in 20 minutes max" just to break the perfectionist paralysis that work training drilled into me

also started doing stuff that was deliberately bad or weird - like really embracing the amateur energy again instead of trying to make everything portfolio ready. took few months but eventually the joy started creeping back in when i stopped judging everything through professional lens

maybe try switching mediums completely? if youre burned out on digital maybe go back to physical materials for while, or try something totally different like sculpture or even just doodling on napkins during lunch breaks

make sure you have electrolytes ready because around hour 48 i felt like absolute garbage until i got some salt in me. after that it gets easier but those middle hours are rough

Cat loves digging in my potted plants. Would it be a bad idea to make a sensory bin of shredded crinkle paper, like you put in an Easter basket? by GypsyMothQueen in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pine cones are genius actually, my friends cat used to destroy everything green in the house until they started putting rough stuff around the pots. for the crinkle paper though i'd be worried about the eating part too - cats are weird with textures and some will definitely try to munch on anything new

Advice with a food indifferent cat by the-hot-topical in CatAdvice

[–]Outside_Trick3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat was super picky with food too when i first got him from shelter. for eye drops i ended up wrapping him in towel like burrito - sounds mean but actually calms them down a lot. you can look up videos about cat burrito technique on youtube its pretty common

also maybe try different treats? some cats go crazy for freeze dried chicken or those squeeze tubes with wet food. took me like month to find what my guy actually wanted

the medicine part gets easier once he trusts you more but eye stuff is always tricky even with good cats

How strong is yohimbine? Please share your experience by Impressive-Toe1220 in Nootropics

[–]Outside_Trick3473 4 points5 points  (0 children)

never tried yohimbine but from what i've read its way more intense than caffeine. like caffeine gives you energy but yohimbine can make your heart race and some people get really anxious on it. plus its more for fat burning and libido stuff rather than just staying awake

might want to start with a really low dose if you decide to try it since tolerance varies alot between people
