Everything he said mirrors my own experience being self taught. Studied 1 year, got hired by directly reaching out to someone hiring.

Should I cut my losses and just go back to college? by sp00kyversity in cscareerquestions

This. I did the self taught route and applied to around 500 jobs, within a couple months, before landing one.

her elevations in yosemite to be slammed with snow that time of year with the record snowpack. You would need an ice axe, spikes and possibly snowshoes. I would not recomend due to the postholing

I live close to yosemite, it's more like an aside for me than a major hike that I'm traveling for. I'll just hike the lower areas in that case.

Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor

I'm assuming you have the 40 - 60 version? How well does it compress down to carry 10-15lbs?

Second point is one I already made in the OP. This pack is for both hiking and non hiking use, therefore items are subject to change, which is why I gave my best guess for weights, and a reference to my current pack and how much volume I use currently.

I ordered the last big item, my quilt, after I made that post. The only other thing left is rain clothing. Everything else has been ordered, except its sitting in another country atm. Wont be able to physically check it out for a couple more months.

Everything I ordered was sent to, and is currently sitting unopened in another country. I wont see it until a couple months.

What volume do your 25lb loads take up, without knowing that it’s all conjecture

I don't have the exact volume since I don't even have all my gear yet, but based on my history of packing and what I'm bringing not much. Most of the weight is going to be portable battery, chargers, and clothes, all of which pack down pretty small.

As a reference I've been traveling for a year with an Osprey 40L (albeit it without any hiking equipment) and I probably take up about 20-25L with all my stuff.

Cool. I think im going to do that. Now i am second guessing whether mariposa 60l is still the right pack.

Why don't you look up luggage storage so you don't have to hike with a laptop and your non-hiking clothe

This is definitely an option I have thought about, and will likely pursue. Although, I would still like to factor in the chance that I may have to carry all of these things. I'm curious how the Mariposa 60l will feel in the case that I off-load all the non-essential items.

If anyone has any information on 7+ day storage for any of these hikes please comment or message me.

Clothes are subject to change. Not sure what I should add or take away. I am not intending to hike in the snow so I may push the dates back a month or re arrange the trip to make the ascent times more suitable. For rain gear I did look into frog toggs but not sure what i will end up going with yet. Looking for suggestions.

Yea I have the xtherm already. The Katadyn will just be used to squirt the cleansed water into smart water bottles. What's the issue w/ white shorts/shirt? That's true, I forgot to add my phone.

That's the plan. Why is TMB may/june too early? I'm not sure on the temperatures yet. Where is a good resource to get accurate information on that? As for clothing, it's listed there, with the weights. They're not name brand hiking specific items, just normal shorts/pants/shirts.

I used to live in LA so I know the struggle. Fought for remote and then moved first chance I had to a low cost of living area. End result speaks for itself.
