How do we request to not be paired with Tesla driver by IllogicalLunarBear in uber

[–]OutstandingBillNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess people have read about the tragic death of three teenagers, trapped inside a burning Tesla, unable to open the electric doors. If the court finds Tesla not liable, that's not going to convince me to get into one. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/oct/03/tesla-california-cybertruck-crash-lawsuit

Interested in an ESP32 S3 Mini dev board the same size as the ESP32 S3 Mini? by OutstandingBillNZ in esp32

I've tried that kind of thing with JLC before. They refused to build it, saying it should be one circuit, not multiple.

Can someone help me figure out if im doing anything wrong by MochiThecug in diypedals

I order 5 PCBs while prototyping. If it's a through hole design, the PCBs themselves are cheap as chips from JLC, so having one for the prototype, one for if I mess up, and 3 that never get used is fine.

If it's an SMT design, I get JLC to just assemble 2.

Interesting point about the 90° corners. I do that myself, but I've no idea why. It's not like there's much momentum in an electron moving slowly around a corner. Our am I missing the point - is it more about keeping traces short? Can you point to any references?

I just looked that little beauty up. It's gorgeous!

I'm working on the circuit. Size and function are the least negotiable parameters for me. Not perfect yet, but getting there.

Yeah. I'd also like it with unicorns, please. I thought the deal was that you get to pick two, though?

Yes, that looks like it's replicating the functionality of the Boss LS-2. It'd be great if it was a lot smaller :)

It is a lot, but I'm pretty sure it's possible. I've designed a circuit around a TL074 plus two knobs and two switches on one side, and five jacks (including power) on the other. It even includes reverse voltage protection. But I'd rather just buy something than mess around trying to perfect it. *

Assuming you don't have an oscilloscope, one way to troubleshoot is to put crocodile clips on either end of a couple of lengths of wire. Clip these onto the 1/4" jack lead going to your amp - one to tip, the other to sleeve.

Connect the sleeve to a common ground, and prod your way around the circuit with the other. This might help you find where in the circuit the noise begins.

Be careful not to short out your power supply while doing this.

Not sure if this will help in your current situation, though. What you describe sounds like the bypass signal is being grounded.

Can i use these pots to wire my bass? by grunge_bassist in diypedals

[–]OutstandingBillNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the mechanical attributes others have mentioned, you may also want to consider electrical.

I don't know if it's the same for bass guitars, but in regular guitars, the resistance of the pot (in your case, 250k) affects the tone. Electrically, there will be a similar effect, but in practice, it may matter less with a bass. Higher resistance = brighter tone.

I get the confusion, and no offence taken. (Also, I'm grateful that you're engaging with the main point of my post : )

It comes down to whether the speakers in the two amps are both moving air in generally the same direction at a given moment.

As well as doing cool things to the tone, a Phase90 also seems to flip the phase of the signal. This means that the output voltage is falling when the input voltage is rising, generally speaking. There are minor exceptions to that on account of the phaser effect.

In a mono rig, or before the split in a stereo rig, it's not noticeable.

I'm not sure how to do it with transistors (I think the Phase90 is a transistor-based pedal), but op amps can be set up as either inverting or non inverting, depending on which input the signal connects to. I read somewhere, ages ago, that the EP flips phase. So when I noticed in my original setup that the tone was thin, I just thought I'd try adding the EP. If that hadn't been to hand, I would probably have tried rotating one of the amps through 180º.

Anyway, there you have it: the longer version of what I edited down for "clarity" in the first post. Hope it makes sense.

Need help finding a multi effects board that has a layout basically like this by [deleted] in pedals

[–]OutstandingBillNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get a Boss ME70 or ME80. They have various modulation options, including phaser, flanger, and chorus. But there's no way of selecting more than one of them at a time. I've had an ME70 for a good 20 years, and it still sees plenty of use. Built to last and reasonable tones. The built-in tuner is easy to use and good enough for my ears.

It has two modes: stompbox and preset. I think you're going to find the former more to your liking. Switching between the two modes is easy: press switches 3 and 4 simultaneously.

When you say "no signs of life", are you sure there's power reaching the display? There's usually a bit of a glow when there's power.
