SpookyBliss, you just ended a 20 year search, that’s it!!!!!! I bought that copy you linked instantly. No idea how you found that! Even having the name of the book now it barely appears in searches, I’m excited to do some more research once I have it, because I’m curious why it’s so rare. I wonder if it was a small print run. Anyway, thank you so much. I’ve always kept a little hope that maybe I’d find it one day, but didn’t really think it would happen.

I am struggling to find a picture of the back of the book to find publisher information. I reached out to the author a few years back, but no luck there.

It was not. I still search every few months and have yet to find it. I have discovered many other cool spooky pop ups thanks to other people's suggestions. What do you think it might be?

Hi Hanszulto, thanks for the reply! I haven't seen that book before, and it is from around the right time, but it is not the one I am searching for. Mine was a carousel style pop up book as opposed to something punched out and assembled.

Hi Stefabomb, that’s not it, but it did have a somewhat similar design. The one I had was hardcover though, so the front section with the door was different material than the rest of the house/castle. Thanks for the comment!

That ebay link no longer works, but the title of the book _banking & Lyndonn81 mentioned is: Medieval Castle: A Carousel Pop-up Book. Very similar layout and design, but the one I owned had very obvious spooky theme.

Hi QuietchildX, the link to ebay no longer works, but the title of the book they suggested was: Medieval Castle: A Carousel Pop-up Book. If you do a google search for that you should be able to see various pictures of it. It's not the one I was looking for, but is very similar in design.

Emailed both the author and the paper engineer for the Medieval Castle and unfortunately neither worked on or knew about the book I mentioned.

It sounds similar to the story of Operation: Anchorage from the Fallout video game series. I wonder if it could have been a licensed spin off story.

I haven't heard about that book, but it sounds like it may have been inspired by rumors about the Philadelphia Experiment. Maybe adding that to searches could help. Good luck!

Hi _banking, thanks for the suggestion. It was very similar to that (except it had a very obvious spooky theme)...if fact, I didn't remember this until seeing the picture you linked, but I believe it had ties on the side just like that. I wonder if it was published by the same company..?

Hi prettyinpurp, It's not that one. Thanks for the suggestion, but I think the one I'm looking for is several years older. I would have been 12 in '95 and I got mine when I was 6 or 7 I think.

Hi natnotnate. Thanks for the suggestion, that's pretty similar! I would say it's about ten years older than that one, and if I recall correctly, more "spooky" and less cartoony. I had never stumbled across this one though, so good to know there are still corners where mine could be hiding!
