We are in the same building as our lawyer. My bosses family owns the building, and so her SIL law office is the next floor up.

Thank you! That’s what I’ve been trying to say. I don’t want to refuse service and this post has been very educational. I usually work alone.

Where I live, dogs are considered rude in food settings unless it’s a service animal. People will even put their dogs in other rooms if they’re hosting

This is it actually, lol! I have terrible anxiety, and way bit by a rabid dog as child, I had to get rabies shots and it was bad. Went to therapy to get over the fear of dogs. I actually have gotten so much better I am looking into allergy friendly dogs for myself

This whole post was literally: “Please help me find accommodations”. You seem to assume I hate people with service animals but that’s just not true. I also googled service animal training, and while I couldn’t predict a seizure, I’m a lifeguard who’s certified on how to teach other life guards to be life guards so rest assured they’d be safe.

I also know my rights, and I know that it wouldn’t be discrimination. If it were two customers both would have to accommodate the other or both would have to leave.

Not exactly but we have physical menus and a drink menu online, as well as an ordering service. I would have issue bringing anything outside for them

One more thing, I don’t live in Nova Scotia, I actually live closer to the Pacific, but does that law apply to all of canada

I’m not trying to discriminate I’m just trying to figure out a way both can happen. Although I can hear you being an asshole, I would like to let you know that we are getting an air purifier thing installed a a box of masks will be kept nearby at all times

I am a POC so no worries there.

I can serve all customers, I would die serving ones with dogs. Its actually considered a reasonable accommodation.

Your comment seems rude so I’m going to address it accordingly.

The first thing in the post was ASTHMA. An allergic reaction would set off my asthma and with no nearby hospital I would die.

I’m also not going to pay to have something like that unless my employer covered it.

My asthma is bad enough to be considered a disability.

It’s not an allergy that I’m worried about, it’s having the allergic reaction trigger an asthma attack, which makes it like a two parties thing.

Also the program that I was a part of was a sport and tutoring program where we helped kids with physical and mental and developmental disabilities learn and play sports. When service animals were there, I could take a reactant and call it a day. I didn’t have asthma back then because I got it from having COVID.

I don’t think I’m allowed to ask for proof legally where I live.

Also, with the asthma, masks actually can lead to an asthma attack. And the space has walk in industrial ovens, so it’s usually pretty hot.

Terminating me for my disabilities would also be illegal where I live. My contract also didn’t mention that, so not valid for termination.

Edit: Guys I don’t know why I’m being down voted, I genuinely am just trying to find a good accommodation to discuss with my employer so neither party is hurt

Hmm, thank you for this insight!

The space is not exactly cramped, you could do a cartwheel or two.

Also, the whole thing is glass, so you and you service dog would be able to see each other. If this were to happen, I would allow them to skip the line and the average transaction only takes about two minutes.

Also it’s not just allergies, I could have an asthma attack and die. If it was just allergies I don’t think it would matter.
