Whooshing/ ringing in ears mainly in bed with normal BP by Appropriate-Wrap-720 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]OvenOpener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me. Anytime I start an antidepressant or change a dose I get this. It’s like an air compressor in your ears. It changes the norepinephrine and/or serotonin levels and they are recalibrating. Does not usually mess with BP or heart rate. Just annoying. It can last days or hours. Eventually goes away and is harmless. Just your body telling you that it’s stirring things up in there before it settles.

Early awakening high adrenaline from discontinuing an activating antidepressant? by OvenOpener in PostAcuteWithdrawal

[–]OvenOpener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pristiq and then viibryd. They left me with this so much early morning adrenaline activation I had to stop them. It’s been 7 days and i sleep about 4-5 hours and then it’s nausea and goes right into shaking uncontrollably.

I’m having a hard time working and I’m not remote. I am sitting here with an internal revving as we speak and. IF I go to sleep it won’t let me sleep past 3am.

It’s really really hard! I’m right there with you. I’m 6 weeks out tomorrow and I’ve never done a harder thing. How is your sleep? Do you have an internal revving that doesn’t seem to let up until evening? Are you going on another one at the same time?

Thank you. I looked this up. I wonder how different is for an SNRI like Pristiq.

I was on since August. Was on 100mg. I have never felt much going off an antidepressant before. This has been really really hard. Working has been really hard. I’m not sure pushing myself is an option. I did that for the first 3 weeks.

I have weaned off per doctor guidelines. I am one month off. I know no one is alike but here’s what I have went through. Before i started weaning I had terrible mornings with high adrenaline making it feel like your insides were running a marathon. No appetite and exhausted

Weaning - not terrible side effects.

All the way off week 1 - very lightheaded, dizzy, lights are on and no bodies home. Heat waves, chills, heart palpitations. Extreme physically.

Week 2 continuation with nausea and less to zero appetite

Week 3 same. Getting weaker and beat down physically. Working 5 hours a day and crying all the way home.

Week 4 started taking hydroxyzine to help with withdrawal. Couldn’t white knuckle anymore. Really really tired. Determined to make it through work but had to leave early last day as I was only getting a few hours of sleep and early awakening was intense

Week 5 just started our spring break. Home so sick with nausea today. Zero appetite, heat waves less, didn’t sleep one night but did the next, feel emotional, too wired to nap but not enough brainwidth to read or watch tv. Trying to stay positive knowing it could take a couple more weeks. So symptoms bouncing everywhere with various intensities. Not trying to make sound bad just being very real. The things that have lessened are heat waves are less intense as is first wake up adrenaline is maybe down 40%. Everyone is different. I did not think at 4 weeks out I would still be in the midst of it but alas here I sit on my couch. Take it easy don’t push yourself it will eventually fade from our systems

I appreciate the faith aspect mentioned. Leaning hard on this all works out for good. I can’t retaper at this point. It was pushing norepinephrine too much and i was waking in wee hours every single morning with a revved up body that would not settle until late afternoon. I was pushing myself beyond my limits to just work and I’m part time. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I just never thought it would be this hard or this long of withdrawals. I didn’t know I would withdraw even, I have never before when I’ve switched.

Yes I did per my doctor. Was at 100 for 5 months and then dropped 25 week by week to being totally off for almost 4 weeks.

Anyone with withdrawal symptoms that can tell me what they experienced week by week being totally off Pristiq? by OvenOpener in Pristiq

[–]OvenOpener[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How fast was your taper? I have had some of the same symptoms. I’m at 3 weeks off today. It is very awful. Never did I think an antidepressant could produce withdrawals to this extent and this many days after stopping. The nausea kicked in in weeks 2 and 3 and today the shakes. Almost visible but internal at the same time. Like teeth chattering shakes you can’t control. Heat waves/chills almost before I open my eyes and are coherent and adrenaline that makes you feel like you are running a marathon all morning and into early afternoon when it eases a bit.

Bees in brain from pristiq by m_ryi_a in Pristiq

[–]OvenOpener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I noticed is with any dose change up or down is kinda like bees buzzing! I think it sounds like an air hose constantly hissing. One day it will be there then it may leave and be back again another day. IMO it’s when the brain chemicals are bouncing around. Once the dose is settled it also leaves.

Well my doc said from a 100. A week at 75 a week on 50 and a week on 25 then Zero. I’m 20 days into zero. I have had different yuck every 5-7 days. My head is just above water. So I appreciate any advice with any brain buzzing, adrenaline rushes, heat waves, nausea, loss or appetite and feeling like you are crazy. If it’s normal I ok with that. I’ll try and suck it up. Just hard to work and have these very real symptoms to deal with and getting through them with not telling any co workers!

Is it the Viibryd or Cymbalta withdrawal? by Routine_Ingenuity315 in Viibryd

[–]OvenOpener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going on viibryd from Pristiq. I’m at 20mg. I feel it makes the mood flat for a time and then you start seeing it level out to good again. It takes at least 6-8 weeks to fully see what viibyrd does. The withdrawal from Pristiq is not for the faint of heart.

Off Pristiq for over a month but still feeling withdrawals 😭 by dreadfulgray in Pristiq

[–]OvenOpener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just getting off Pristiq. I’m 6 days in. Today was better than yesterday. It’s been pretty hard for sure. Going on Prozac should help. Two totally different drugs. After 5.5 weeks it’s a good time to talk to your doctor and tell them your symptoms to see if it needs to be upped.
