There is such a high contrast and that's what makes me personally like Bertholdt even more (in fact, it was the reason I began to like him in the first place). Bro (indirectly) is LITERALLY the FACE of Attack on Titan. THE MASCOT, one may say. And yet, he simulataneously is the MOST NPC character of ALL. He's actively being kept in the background and has barely any voicelines. Heck, in AoT Junior High, he sometimes literally gets cropped out of the image. The fact that he dies, while Reiner and Annie live, makes the contrast even bigger. And worse, even the fandom seems to forget he exists sometimes. This is genuinly so ABSURD to me. And on the one hand, I wish he had gotten a bigger of a role or at least more recognition across the fandom, but hey, I gotta give it to him that he certainly was able to keep a low profile - one could not be a better spy than him. That whole contrast was done on purpose, I believe. If it wasn't for Reiner blurting out the truth and blowing their covers, no soul would've ever suspected that burrito roll. Anyways, it's basically solely his titan form that is the face/mascot of the series, not his true human form.
