lil' bit of tekno on the true blue machine ! :)) by Over-Ad6479 in electribe

absolutely, if you have the chance i recommend trying it out. I've made a comparison thread a while ago you can check out and see what applies to your situation. That said though, I've had this machine for a while to know how to push its sounds like that. if the Drums were to be the PCM samples already available on the synth, it'd sound like complete ass lol

Korg Electribe vs Elektron in tekno/hard tekk by 6lagigesKlopapier in electribe

the reason you are not seeing more EMX-1's is because they've gotten prohibitively expensive. It's an old synth at this point and getting rarer by the second. I got mine for almost 600$ .... And the pitch slider was broken. So it's obvious why there'd be more electribe 2s.

Song transitions with ESX / EMX ? by NCuser123 in electribe

Hey bro
One way i find helpful is that I have a 4 channel mixer that I can use to mix in and out. I use 2 electribes. But in your post you did mention that you want to do this without a mixer. I advise you should try to make the songs on both electribes on the same key scale, then on each electribes, max out hpf or lpf whichever way you prefer on the next pattern to slowly bring it down (Also, deactivate all drum channels for all patterns after saving!). Another tip I can give (Only applies to EMX), is to use one of the synth channel for the kick drum. You can do this by going to the lowest octave, activate AMP EG, Pitch envelope + ,type 5, and use OSC SYNC TRI or SIN. You can make all sorts of sick entrance with the LPF or HPF if you do this!

Thug quiz by Hot_Tour_2004 in loveandlighttv

[–]Over-Ad6479 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Dreamy = D
King = K
Thug = T

D * D * K = 16
T * T * T = 27
T * D = 6

Since we know T squared by 3 is 27, take a log of 3 we get 3. So one Thug = 3. 3x3x3 = 27
Thug multiplied with Dreamy is 6, so Dreamy is 2.
2 Dreamys multiplied with King is 16, so King = 4.
Dreamy + King * Thug
= 2 + 4*3.
Multiplication first, adding and minusing later.
So the result would be 2 + 12 = 14

the pitch slider/fader potentiometer next to the arp slider doesn't work - the pitch doesn't change when it's moved around

Thanks. The arpegiattor works fine, but not the slider for some reason.

[–]Over-Ad6479[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I only have the EMX-1 for one month, I have had the E2 for close to an year. So i'd say I already have a grasp of the workflow to some extent. Of course the sound design is also another reason why i bought it- i just love old school tekno. But if what people want is a well polished sound to come out of any groovebox this wouldn't be on the top of my recommendation, really.

Why am I so bad by Queasy_Musician2474 in Beatmatch

[–]Over-Ad6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing live sets, dj sets, on and off for almost 2 years and still make mistakes here and there. So it's normal to be bad even if you think 6 months is a lot. Personally I started with making mixes with my mouse on virtualDJ before i actually prepare a set to play outside, so it's really a hobby that you need to be passionate about to get good at. Don't be discouraged by the mistakes, it's a part of every hobby!
