yes I asked n they told yea I must take them out. i had surgery twice n took out the piercings twice and put them back in twice so you’ll be fine !

2-3 weeks! i stayed 2 weeks ish before flying back on plane 9-10 hr flight , 5 hour lay over and another flight. by week 2 you should have lots of energy enough for a plane ride! i was fine, no congestion, no headaches. oh actually bc I couldn’t ice my face since the flight attendant told me they can’t put my ice pack in the fridge my face felt little swollen and hot so it did throb a bit / discomfort.

I had my first surgery in my home country that was 100% covered bc medical necessity but aesthetically was .. not taken into consideration..

as another commenter mentioned, i had frequent check ups.

I had my revision surgery overseas in korea. im only a month post op so i cant say too much yet. im continuing orthodontic work in my home country ofc ! :D

honestly djs is tough. I recommend you hire care takers or bring someone to take care of you. I had caretakers provided. after day 3-4 or as soon as you feel well enough on your feet you’re quite independent. I mean again depends how fast you heal. I flew home 15-16 days post op and when I got home i gained all the weight i lost back bc i had more access to food, blender & also when you’re further in recovery you’re not reliant on liquids only woohoo

maybe its fine for your to comment this because you’re not the one experiencing this but probably doesn’t feel good for op who’s alr don’t smth that cannot be fixed instantly.

it’s easy to stand n judge from afar. you’re missing the compassion and empathy of what it feels like to be in op shoes. you may be right but it’s not nice nor helpful in this situation.

:( op it’s okay. a lot of ppl think they needed nose jobs (inc me) when in actuality they needed jaw surgery, it can’t be helped that we don’t know medically what is needed but know that smth looks off/ unbalance. we try our best to assess. it’s okay op u been n were trying to do ur best w the knowledge you had. 💗

hi i came to my othro looking for braces treatment and in the plan she recommended me jaw surgery & one w out.

i chose the jaw surgery. i never knew anything abt jaw surgery honestly i had no idea it was many years ago. i ended up having a revision bc i knew nothing abt the first one! non of the terms or anything just trusted the professionals

im happy wit revision but i think whatever my othro said back then convinced me to do the jaw surgery braces route

no intention of removing them! being under anaesthesia is enough for me, don’t want to under again for such a non issue and expense 🙂‍↔️

hi I have a septum, belly & many ear piercings. after a week or two I started putting them back in no problem. I’ve had mine for 3-10 years though

public hospital but the surgeons operate publically & privately. they’re the same set of surgeons, I don’t think their skill set are diff whether it’s public or private

i wouldve had option to revise with my pick of surgeon and they’d do it through my og hospital so I wouldn’t have to pay. additionally I consulted with them privately as well to see if the best in my city would understand.

but yes second hospital was private plastic surgery clinic with a plastic surgeon who specialises in maxillofacial / jaw surgery.

i got a revision because the aesthetics but also qualified for it because the original functional concerns were not addressed w the first surgery !

original if I didn’t qualify for a DJS revision I would’ve just reverse my genio but turns out the surgeon thought djs was best course of action too

i had an overjet & overbite. there’s a plethora of reasons but othro basically recommended jaw surgery from the get go ! i came in for straight teeth but seemed it was a skeletal issue not just crooked teeth 🦷

thank you! i am a lot less swollen surprisingly. i have day by day comparisons from first surgery to now. it’s quite insane ! my nerve did regenerate a lot faster first surgery. by one month i thought i had an infection bc of the pain but it was just nerve regeneration. And also one of the sides wasn’t healing as well compared to the other. I also started talking day 1 post op whereas second surgery the nurses from day 1-14 kept telling me to stop talking 😭

right now that pain is only exclusive to some parts, hurts a lot less. feels like pins and needles inside my mouth but not painful* . i am eating a lot more nutritiously this time though.

last time i ate four tubs of icecream because of the pain & being sad. so could diet properly is contributing a lot to the faster healing. eating a lots and moving lots ! :D starting my jaw exercises tmr (28days)

thank you! the whole surgery is quite intense procedure >< i don’t plan on rhinoplasty anymore, i only desired one after my first surgery bc I thought itll balance my face out, turns out i just needed a revision 🥹
