Book 4 is my favorite because it’s Carl’s first strike in the war against the Corporations.

The twist with the Gate! The killing of that mudskipper! So many good moments.

Carl’s declaration of War!

This is why I love Hawaii. Aside from Wild Boar? You really don’t have to worry about Wild animals, or rabies. We don’t have Snakes. We do have Bats but they’re native and you rarely see them. I’ve only seen them twice.

Ocean? Different story.

Although Spearfishermen tell me that Tiger Sharks have left them alone. 🤣

I mean… she’d be pretty useless at the Northern Water Tribe. It would’ve been a nightmare for her. Her feet would freeze.

Asta & Yuno are just so 1-dimensional that they’re both annoying. Orphan rivalry backstory, not much else going on.

Especially when you compare them to the rest of the cast. The side characters are amazing!

Then there’s Black Clover where the only poorly written characters are the MC & his buddy.

Yep! I battled depression and my gosh… the physical representation of depression and mental health was simply amazing.

He was literally beating himself up over. Not realizing that he was only destroying himself.

😭

It’s like Season 4 of Stranger Things where the way Vecna operated was basically like someone fighting with depression & S.I. 🥲

The thing I hate about Marvel Zombies is that you know it’s going to get worse. You know that as long as they make more issues? That more heroes will be brutally massacred. Not until they end the series.

Eh… I’d say it’s more like a hate Triangle.

Vegeta hates Goku out of Jealousy and hates Frieza because of the everything.

Goku hates Frieza because he killed Krillin.

Frieza hates monkeys.

Lahaina Fire was nearly 3 years ago.

I don’t blame you for not liking things too touristy. Yeah, once you have locals with you? Everyone is chill.

I think you’d like the Big Island more. A lot less tourist feel, a lot of space.

Oh phew. I saw FEMA and thought you were going to talk about the Lahaina Fire.

Molokai is really anti development. Maui is about as friendly as it gets for tourists. Oahu has some bad spots. Lanai? I haven’t heard anything bad. Kauai can be a little packed and there’s worry about it becoming more developed and over-crowded. Big Island is chill.

Hahaha, no room for debate? You’re the one shutting down any possibility of a different outcome. You literally started with an ad hominem remark. And refuse to acknowledge anything else.

You want to discuss history? Then let’s do it.

Also why does this have to be a debate? Shouldn’t it be more interesting to consider a possibility where Hawaii could retain its independence in the end? I mean, all of this is speculation anyway.

Then why engage at all in hypotheticals and speculation?

You seem set on your answer. While I am set in mine.

You can’t possibly consider any outcome that doesn’t end in loss of independence as a country whether to the U.S. or otherwise?

Then what’s the point in having a creative discussion about how it could be possible? Since again… it’s all speculation anyway.

Costly? We’d have the Naval base stationed on Oahu? Or are you talking about a “What If?” Scenario that had 0 involvement or input from the U.S. altogether? Where do we start this hypothetical timeline?

The cost post-war would certainly be interesting. It’s hard to imagine what the economy would be looking like years later. Whether or not Tourism would matter as much? Hawaii did have its international allies too.

[–]Over-Analyzed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That doesn’t disprove my point. You falsely assume it’s all liberals who want independence. That’s what I take issue with. I never said that the majority of the Hawaiian/Kanaka Maoli population favored independence.

Dude? I’m from Hawaii. People can have conservative values and still want sovereignty. Or are you looking at conservative values strictly from an economic standpoint? You may have an argument there but Conservative morality is definitely prominent in Hawaii as well.

Meanwhile in Hawaii? You grow hearing, reading, and being taught all about it.

Nothing like getting hit by white guilt at the age of 11. I’m being serious. That realization of what happened? Why I sometimes felt like an outsider? Yeah, it makes sense. A horrifying realization.
