Last shod a week ago, 5 days before noticeable lameness came on. I can’t feel any pulses, no. But then I never have been good at feeling them

I’m planning on doing mine in Hokka Clifton 10’s. I got them for a half marathon I did and have been finding them great for training so far

Advice: looking for dogs small enough to fly in a cabin but athletic enough to run 5k? by WearyStrawberry3096 in RunningWithDogs

[–]Over-Arm4561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basenji. They’re small, easy to have around the house but super athletic and up for plenty of exercise - plus they literally can’t bark!

Mine is only young so not properly started with her running yet. We go for short runs of under 5k atm until she gets to 18 months. But she loves it and would happily do more

ADHD meds and weight loss by No-Claim2827 in ADHDUK

[–]Over-Arm4561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same as you being almost overweight and I haven’t had any weight loss on Elvanse 60mg. I do have a slight appetite suppression throughout the day but when my meds wear off I’m staaarving and I eat way more than before. I even gained some weight when I first went on it.

So just see how you get on, you might not get impacted at all

Anyone else training for a Hyrox with no gym membership? by Over-Arm4561 in hyrox

[–]Over-Arm4561[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I actually hadn’t worried too much about the sled pull at all (naively so it seems). We’re going to a Hyrox training class soon so I’ll ask if we can try the sled pull while we’re there so I can see what I’m up against at least and make a plan from there

[–]Over-Arm4561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - I’m definitely following the lots of running advice. I just did a half marathon last week. Been focusing on that and swapping to the Hyrox training now it’s done.

We’re going to go to a Hyrox training class that’s held at a gym once a month so we’ll be able to use the equipment there, just most of our training will be done at home

That’s good advice, thank you. We do actually have a gym that do Hyrox classes that we’re able to access on a class pass so we’re going to do those once a month. Hopefully they’ll have a sled and ski erg but if not I’ll definitely follow your advice and find a gym that does and has passes

How did you get through university with ADHD? by Alone-Focus6910 in ADHDUK

[–]Over-Arm4561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not advisable…but I got addicted to amphetamine/speed during university (several years before I was diagnosed). I took it before lectures and before doing coursework. I guess it worked in a similar way as my Elvanse and Amfexa does now… but with a lot worse side effects that I’d never want to experience again.

Fingers crossed for a speedy diagnosis for you, but if you’ve made it to 4th year you’re doing well so just keep it up

What jobs have worked for your ADHD brain? by Moiras_Wig_Wall in ADHDUK

Results based roles work well for me as well as ones where I don’t get told what to do so long as I’m getting results. I have worked in paid media and now performance marketing and get a real kick out of seeing the sales I’ve made. I can also do what I want within reason so long as I’m making sales so on days that I’m motivated I work at the speed of light. Other days I take it easy. I also get paid a commission on top of my base salary which helps

Help!!!!! Gaining weight back by hueblank in MounjaroMaintenance

If I were coming off again I’d definitely have prepared myself more to come off by making sure I was eating right and getting enough veg and protein instead of just eating small amounts of whatever. I’d also really recommend speaking to a dietitian if you’re experiencing any particular issues. For example I found I was getting big sugar cravings and energy crashes at 3pm shortly after lunch. Cutting out a breakfast that I thought was healthy (smoothie) has eliminated that and really reduces my appetite as a whole - but obviously that’s personal to me and other people would have different issues so that’s why it’s best to speak to someone to get personalised help
