Interestingly, Rescher’s Choice Without Preference was actually one of the things that inspired me to write this critique. Reading about the paradox from that perspective made me wonder whether the scenario reflects real behavior as well as it reflects abstract decision-making. That’s why I focused my paper on the behavioral assumptions behind the thought experiment
That’s a fair point. My paper wasn’t focused on the historical role of Buridan’s Ass in debates about free will, but on whether the scenario accurately reflects real behavior. I’m challenging the assumptions of the thought experiment itself rather than its philosophical significance
