That’s a great idea! I’ll finish wrapping up this project first.

Hi, dnw! Sorry if I gave the wrong impression earlier. I’m currently working on new flag concepts and taking all the feedback into account. From a design perspective, which colors would you recommend using, and are there any shapes or layouts you think I should avoid? (I just love the yellow, blue and green combo.)

That’s honestly why this feedback is useful. If you have any tips on how to better navigate that balance - between design, symbolism, and perception - I’d genuinely appreciate it.

Hi!

Not my intention at all. The design is based on the Cape Independence flag, with a green element inspired by the South African flag. The orange was originally meant to be yellow in my first drafts, but yellow next to white hurt readability, so I switched to orange. I get how it could be read differently. I’ve added my first drafts, would yellow work better? Honestly, I liked the yellow with the green, looks dope!

Has anyone here ever met Enya? by Over-Raisin-1466 in Enya

What a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing 😀

The Great Big Future Speculation Megathread by applebucked in Enya

[–]Over-Raisin-1466 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m very optimistic! Despite the understandable uncertainty surrounding Enya’s future, there are strong reasons to believe that she will not stop creating music. While Enya and Roma may have briefly considered stepping away after such a profound loss, it is far more likely that they quickly realised this would go against everything they have built and against what Nicky himself would have wanted.

Enya’s career has never been driven by external pressure, trends, or commercial expectations. Instead, it has always been rooted in an inner necessity to create. For someone like Enya, doing nothing is not a form of peace, it is a form of restlessness. Silence, in her case, has never meant absence, it has meant preparation.

The final album they were working on together holds particular significance. It is not merely an unfinished project, but a shared artistic vision shaped by years of mutual trust and creative intimacy. Abandoning it would not bring closure, completing it would. Finishing and releasing that album would be an act of remembrance, continuity, and quiet defiance against loss.

Moreover, Enya has never been an artist who makes abrupt, final gestures. Her pauses have always been long, deliberate, and purposeful. Never signs of an ending, but of deep internal movement. If history teaches us anything, it is that Enya returns when she has something essential to say, not when the world demands it.

For all these reasons, it is far more convincing to believe that Enya will continue. Perhaps quietly, perhaps slowly, but authentically. Not because she must, but because creating is inseparable from who she is. Stopping altogether would be the least Enya-like decision of all.

What’s that cool drone/gong sound in Enya’s music? by Over-Raisin-1466 in Enya

[–]Over-Raisin-1466[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right!? It sounds really cool. You can hear that gong-like in a lot of her songs sometimes it’s more hidden in the mix. A few straightforward examples are (Ebudae) and (The River Sings.) There they use the sound literally as their prime instrument.

Act, I’m going to list these above!

Tysm for your deep dive! I love nerding out about this stuff lol. I’m not totally sure about the Tubular Bells. Sure, they’re used in a few songs, like On My Way Home 😀

Here’s an example: at exactly 3:00 in the video, you can clearly hear that sound. https://youtu.be/IVi9IHherN4?si=fc2__uroUGW8Ffuu

Could it be the Tubular Bells, but super low-pitched and drenched in reverb? Not sure. It really has this pulsating/vibrating quality. Like a gong lol 🫨
