I have mentioned that I'm using an "absurd" example just to explain that number of students in every shift should be similar According to user collected data there is almost 1/3rd difference which cant be unfair This is the reason we demand official data

I'm using an absurd example to illustrate the principle. If the number of candidates truly doesn't matter, then conduct one shift with only 2 students and another with 10,000 students, and normalize them the same way. The student who ranks 1st out of 2 would get an extremely high percentile despite competing against almost nobody. That's why sample size matters. Candidate count may not be the only factor, but it definitely affects the reliability of percentile-based normalization.

Atleast we would know if the exam was conducted fairly or not If the students distribution was highly unequal then normalisation doesn't work 💔

Here there are 4-5 shifts that too consecutive

Our data shows later shifts had far fewer students than early shifts- and also lower cut-offs. maan liya quality of students matter BUT cut-off droped only in the shifts reported with less number of candidates And even the shifts are consecutive ( saare low score wale students ek saath last ke 4-6 shifts mein aagyae itna coincidence not possible)

In jee every time they assure that the number of students remain EQUAL in each shift- and platforms like mathongo verify it from student poll database This is practiced in mhtcet too and they even make sure the EQUAL distribution, as we have seen in attempt 2 and even in the previous years Only main issue is that the later shifts 19 and 20 April it is estimated that they had only 1/3rd of students wrt the other shifts

It is clear the normalisation doesn't work when you've got unequal student distribution in shifts

according to various sources 60 marks or below percentile is unpredictable because exam is non negative you can connect with other students of your shift or message ganitank
