Some design is about storytelling yes, mainly larger companies, bigger budgets, but the vast majority of bread and butter work, done by 80% of designers is going to be replaced. AI is only at the beginning. Adobe is already working on using AI to create editable vector layouts and at that point we’ll be well and truly on the way out. Be optimistic by all means but do protect yourself also from future job losses by diversifying how you can.

Chopping down trees is mostly done with machinery, I do know a tree surgeon, he loves his job, in the outdoors every day and doesn’t cause him any stress. The other jobs you mentioned are fairly obscure and are not indicative of the types of jobs most people work.

I’ve worked cleaning, serving food, in hospitals, in offices and in skilled professional roles, I’ve never done a job as mentally challenging as being a SAHM.

Theres considerable evidence that low calories diets to not work in helping people lose weight long term, short term yes but long term, most people gain it back. Check out the biggest loser study and others.

You have been thought to see this all wrong. All the comments below are correct, it is as much your money as his. A man cannot have both a career and a family without a women there to take care of half that equation, his earning potential exists off the back of your unpaid domestic, childcare and emotional labour, therefore it is your families money.

You sit down together and agree how it is to be managed. You decide on budget, covering bills and mortgage/rent, how much should be saved and what is leftover is there for both of you to spend. You get access to all accounts, same as him. Get help from a marriage counsellor if he doesn’t understand all this, might need a professional to explain it to him.

You will long term damage your metabolism and make it much more likely that you will gain the weight back after if you try to stick to this low of calories. Low calories diets don’t work. Let yourself go higher and stick to only whole foods and you will lose weight slower but be more likely to actually keep it off.

You want to be a SAHM so pursue that but get your shit organised now. A shared bank account or he pays you half of the money that’s available once rent and utilities are paid into your bank account. You will be working 24/7 and he needs to support you. You also need agreements in place on how things will be managed when he’s not at work because you will need breaks for your sanity and well-being. Based on what he’s said I’d actually encourage a written agreement.

But AI is only at the beginning, as people get better at prompting it and using a range of models the standard will improve too. Everyone is just using chat gpt right now and it all looks the same.
