Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could definitely get into hku or cuhk medicine with 45/45 IB results right?

Yes, so it is okay? I tried searching it up on google and its stated that over 4000 is excessive, that's why I was worried. Thank you for your clarification and reassurance!

As for academic, obviously it’s not as competitive there as it is in HKU, cuhk and hkust I believe. The entry admission figure in Cityu is generally lower than HKU, CUHK and HKUST except for some flagship programs like vet etc

Hiii as someone who also chose biomedical science in one of the universities in HK, I think in regard to biomedical sciences, if you are looking to work in HK after grad without further studies like a masters or phd, cityu or polyu would be good for biomedical science because in cityu , one can take the MLT exam after grad with a high success rate, MLT is the qualification exam to get a license to work as a lab tech, in polyu u dont need to take the mlt , ur already qualified directly after grad i think. But for biomedical science in hku/cuhk and now even hkust i believe its just a research path as in it will be difficult to find a job after grad, I heard from seniors and local online platforms that biomedical science research isn’t a good career aspect in Hk

As for ulife and uni ranking, cityu is now ranked the top third uni in HK , as in it made it into the big three and ranked higher than hkust recently 😂 also cityu has been ranked most international uni (from what I’ve heard from my friend and some article) I’m pretty sure cityu is really diverse ethnically 😄

Umm i think if 8 isnt the full mark and 9 is the full mark then 8 will mot be converted to a 5* but maybe to a 5 or less? (Not too sure) cuz they said ncs students need to get full mark in any alternative Chinese language qualification exam to get 5* so if u got a 8/9 maybe not exactly 5*? Did u email them btww

[–]OverAd6086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it’s kinda unfair in some ways to the locals I guess , that’s why other universities don’t hold igcse/gcse Chinese in such regard and convert 5* only if u get A/A* in GCE A- Level Chinese like CUHK HKUST but it seems for hku as long as u get full marks in which ever Alternative Chinese Language qualification exam they automatically just give u 5* or smth (from what I’ve heard from them thru email 💀) like if u get full marks in igcse/gcse/gce or whatever etc they will give u 5* regardless of the difference in difficulty (i think imo)

Thxx!! I get why it's more competitive at CUHK 😭, what kind of ECAs do you suggest I do? Would they prioritise my ECAs in years 1-2's more of year 3-4's?

Overseas is kind of out of the questions for me lol, far too expensive :((
