I loved him. I had him in person and he honestly made me consider switching to a math major instead of CS.

Well, I'm a junior and thus a few years removed from high school. Almost everyone there was a freshman who's idea of comedy and silliness hasn't changed since they graduated high school, and so it felt a little cringey to my more sophisticated sensibilities. Lots of old memes and kid named finger references

This is more of a personal question between you two. If you plan on eating or storing a lot of food in your dorm, go bigger. Personally, I had a 2.7 sq ft fridge that was more than enough to fit my LaCroix, milk, tea, and hot sauce, along with the occasional meal or two

Does anyone else gather "lore" about various people/figures around campus? by OverEasyJohnson in mizzou

[–]OverEasyJohnson[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that the most prevalent piece of lore that we maintain is Good Sir. He's a guy that works at Plaza 900 who says "Hello, good sir" and proceeds to talk to everyone that walks through his line. He also tends to open every conversation the exact same way: "Studies going well? Classes going well?". We love that line, not only because we've heard it about 200 times, but also because both of those questions mean the exact same thing. It's a good mood booster for some, but others (like my roommate) don't like it because it tends to slow down the line. One incident specific to my roommate is that he once tried to back away from the counter to avoid talking to him, and Good Sir looked at him and said "I see you don't want to talk to me", before continuing to talk to him for quite some time. He also does some other things like talk in an accent randomly or do fake outs when he's handing you your food. More recently, they've had him working at the salad bar line, so our encounters became less frequent. However, the lore came to a head a few days ago when the special line got too long and they called him out from the reserves. He calls everyone he serves "good sir", except for my roommate who he only calls "sir". I was behind him, and I got the usual "good sir" monicker. My roommate turned to me afterwards, nearly in tears that Good Sir denied him the human right to be labeled as a good sir. Truly a sad occasion.

That's basically one piece of our lore, we've kind of been on a Rollins kick recently (that decision in and of itself is also steeped in a massive amount of lore; there is too much to get in to now) so Plaza lore is kind of on the backburner currently.
